Our first experience was in the parking lot where you have to pay $1.00 per hour. We stood there for ten minutes waiting for the man in front of us to pay for his time. After ten minutes he stepped as...  more »

There are a lot of areas for children to explore... like, a lot! And a great variety at that! There's so many pretend play areas...from grocery shopping to emergency vehicles to a baby nursery...it is indeed very hands-on. I also love how they have an outdoor area with trikes for rent (free rental) and the indoor crafts area have many "offerings" of materials and ideas of things to make/mold. You can easily spend over 3 hours here. The little cafe is another one of my favorite areas just because they understand young kids and their eating habits...in that they're very picky and usually eat just very select items...and sometimes very little of it. They sell single pieces of cheese, hard boiled eggs, small containers of strawberries...food applicable for little ones and they don't charge you an arm and a leg. A single piece of cheese for example was $0.60. The strawberries were like $2.50...still, not bad for a restaurant/cafe! They also have sandwiches too...i just don't remember how much they were. Definitely worth a visit!

We have been waiting for four years to visit the Hands On museum and it was worth the wait! It was under construction the last time we visited Olympia when my son was 2 so we were very excited to finally get our chance to check it out. All of the exhibits are fantastic and what struck me was how clean everything is. The water and air tubes were fantastic and the eagles nest and slide were a favorite. A must see!

Fantastic facility. Adult Swim nights for 21+ allow adults to play, featuring beer, wine, and cocktails. I've been to several! Get your tickets early as they almost always sell out. For the kids, the museum is an awesome, interactive playground. People come from surrounding cities to bring their kids. It's also a good place for private parties at night, such as grown-up birthdays, anniversaries, or weddings.

Awesome children's museum. There is always so much to see and do. They have different activities every weekend. The parenting classes that they offer are also fantastic.

Wow! What an exceptional place for families in Olympia. Our grandson is 7 months old and we really had a great time. We can see that it will be more utilized as he agrees. I was impressed by the building area, pottery making, pneumatic tubes, tree fort, trike check out and course and the outdoor garden and chickens. I could go on and on and will definitely come back.
