  • Very interesting and informative without being overwhelming. Enjoyed going through the cabins outside too. A must see that wouldn't take more than 30 minutes.
  • If you're in Old Fort be sure to stop by Old Fort's Mountain Gateway Museum. Not far off of Interstate 40 and free of charge (donations accepted gladly) plus you get to learn about the town's Appalachian history and its early settlers. Be sure to tour the log cabins on site along with a beautiful creek behind museum. Kiesa is a very gracious and friendly museum host, who shared her knowledge about the area's history with me. Highly recommend stopping on your journey to Asheville and its surrounding areas.
  • Very knowledgeable about this area and great brochures to get you there.
  • Quaint little museum with several outbuildings of historical significance. I visited while they would hosting the Great Flood of 1916 exhibit. This location is certainly worth a visit if your are in Old Fort.
  • Beautiful, clean place. Very good.
