Oklahoma City Zoo, Oklahoma City

4.4
#1 of 58 in Parks in Oklahoma
See the exotic species, marvel at the butterfly exhibit, and enjoy the botanical garden at Oklahoma City Zoo. Along with animals from all over the world like tigers, elephants, and giraffes, the zoo hosts a wide selection of species native to Oklahoma, from bears and alligators, to birds and bats. You can walk around, hop on one of the train rides, or take a boat tour on Zoo Lake. The zoo especially focuses on opportunities for children to learn about wildlife while playing and interacting with the animals. During the hot summer months, a lot of the activities include splashing water, so consider bringing a spare set of clothes for the kids. Oklahoma City Zoo is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Oklahoma City Edition.

This is a wonderful zoo. It is spread out so there is a lot of walking but the exhibits, displays, and the environment for the animals is first class. Be sure and get tickets for the carousel and the ...  more »

Low entry price compared to other large zoos across the nation. I found out why, too.. they charge $2-$10 for just about anything extra that you want to do inside. So $8 a person quickly turns into $50 if you don't purchase the more expensive entry option. Overall, a pretty good zoo. There are a good number of animals across the board from bats and fish to giraffes and elephants. Everything in between, too. The maps they hand out seem simple enough but the trails twist and turn so much that we got lost multiple times. Took 30 minutes of searching to find the bears even with a map in our hands. For anyone who is curious.. a single seat stroller costs $8 to rent and sits so low to the ground that kids can't see most of the animals without picking them up out of it. So bring your own if you have one!

The Oklahoma City Zoo has found a wonderful balance of family entertainment, ecological education, and wildlife conservation. Gone are the days of animals in small rock pits. Their open format exhibits and trail style layout not only give a unique perspective into how animals interact with their environment but look more toward keeping the animals safe, comfortable and happy. Definitely worth a membership for locals!

Very nice zoo. Good prices. However I do not recommend going on a Saturday. Very very busy. The zoo is great for children, has a bunch of different playgrounds and other things to do other than just seeing animals. They have very cool animals as well. It is a very big zoo. Be prepared to walk a lot.

Great outing for the family with lots of new additions in the last few years. Really easy to bring in your own food. However, your $11 general admission will quickly jump up as all the extra activities cost around $5 per activity.

What a great place to spend the day with family and friends! This is a very decently priced zoo with many attractions, this made for a great date-day. Exhibits are well maintained, the animals are not exotic, but they are well-cared for and their habitations are spacious. This is really is a decent size zoo for filling a day.
