Art Museum Museum
Housing the world's largest collection of glass sculptures by artist Dale Chihuly, Oklahoma City Museum of Art brings art to life in the city's renowned downtown arts district. Although it covers a period of nearly 500 years, the museum's collection is especially strong in European and American art of the 19th and 20th centuries. Spread across three floors, the permanent exhibit space displays works by Alexander Calder, Henry Moore, Georgia O'Keefe, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Charles Wilson Peale, and Gustave Courbet. The museum also houses a theater that screens international, independent, and classic films. Finish your visit with a meal at the museum's full-service restaurant, which offers a menu inspired by French cuisine. • I have been to many art museums, and this is the most expensive museum I've been to in comparison to the quantity and quality of art. They have some very nice displays and pieces, I will not disagree with that. But it felt very small and not very diverse. I have also never been to a museum that made me back up all the time. I have bad eyes and I stepped up to a painting not even very close and I felt like I was doing something incredibly inappropriate. My favorite part of the museum was the Chihuly exhibit, an artist that I have seen pieces in many museums.
  • My husband and I like to go here a few times a year for beautiful and thought provoking exhibits. We're thoroughly satisfied each time. The museum cafe has exquisite fare as well. Must see!
  • This museum is a shining modern beacon in downtown OKC. I appreciate how willing OKC is to support the arts. This museum has a nice permanent collection of artwork and has done a great job in the past few years of bringing in very unique and contemporary traveling exhibits. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. If you are looking for an after work event, art class or movie showing this museum has all of your entertainment needs!
  • The food here was decent. I tried both seafood pastas and the salmon sandwich , the sandwich was the best. Good service overall
  • Beautiful museum! Was there for the deadCenter Film Festival feature screening of Kreep, and the reception on the roof following. It was beautifully presented and the rooftop area was a really great area for the reception and a neat space for events!
