Art Museum
Housing the world's largest collection of glass sculptures by artist Dale Chihuly, Oklahoma City Museum of Art brings art to life in the city's renowned downtown arts district. Although it covers a period of nearly 500 years, the museum's collection is especially strong in European and American art of the 19th and 20th centuries. Spread across three floors, the permanent exhibit space displays works by Alexander Calder, Henry Moore, Georgia O'Keefe, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Charles Wilson Peale, and Gustave Courbet. The museum also houses a theater that screens international, independent, and classic films. Finish your visit with a meal at the museum's full-service restaurant, which offers a menu inspired by French cuisine. • I love contemporary art and this is a beautiful place with good collections. On October 11th were just one of the 3 floors open. A must in your visit to Oklahoma. And free wifi.
  • They do a great job getting great installations. And have a great movie theater where they host really interesting screenings and discussions. Most recently the museum was one of three places in the WORLD to host the Matisse: In His Time exhibit.
  • I really enjoy the layout of the museum. I came for the Matisse exhibit and loved it! It was beautifully laid out and displayed in a fluid coherent pattern. And the pieces included were amazing!
  • All kinds of art and unique films. One of the sites for Deadcenter film Festival. They also have murder mystery nights. Art After 5 is a good event to enjoy some drinks with friends after work. They always have fun events going on. Membership is more than worth it, giving you discounted or free access to all the events they have.
  • I always love to visit this amazing museum. This time I went with my friend to see the Matisse. It is an amazing selection of very creative pieces. I will be back.
