  • When it's not busy you can see deer and have enough space to jog down the well marked and smooth paths. Not a long trek, do it at least twice if you are actually trying to get some exercise out of you...  more »

  • Red dirt, red clay, red rocks + water= Red Waterfalls! Almost 2 miles of scenic trail running. If you're not familiar with the OK red dirt, you'd think you were in Mars, because of the red clay ground and red Rock formations. No rock climbing available, but cool place to explore some unique nature surrounding. If you enjoy 'Frontier City', please stay away. Peace and Plants.
  • One of our favorite places to go for a walk/hike. It will be nice to see how the ongoing improvements look come spring. Currently about 2.5 miles to hit all the trails. Trails range from woods to more open areas and river crossings. They have activities for the kids which help make the experience more enjoyable. Definitely worth taking some time and checking it out.
  • The park seems to be kept clean. There are two slides, one of which is in a big fake tree. There is stuff to climb on, but no swings, etc. We are not from the area and completely forgot that there was a sign saying they close at 6. We lost track of time and they locked the gate without checking for vehicles or people. We called their number but no one answered. Ended up having to call 911 just to come let us out. Still waiting to see how much of an ordeal that will be. Whoever they have locking the gates could at least have the courtesy to take 3 minutes to check the park. I work in a place that requires the doors to be locked at the end of the day and I always check to make sure everyone is gone first. I don't expect them to walk the trails looking for straggling hikers, but the park can be seen from the parking lot. Update: the police officer was very polite and informed us that this happens all the time and the staff of the park never check that they're not locking people in, don't have anyone to contact when they do, and the cops have to take care of it for them. Sounds like an issue that needs attention.
  • Clean, good playground. Not many people before 10AM, but it does get crowded in the afternoon. There are a few maps along the trail, but sometimes there are two or three paths/roads with little indication of which goes where. There is construction on the visitor's center (March 2018), which made it impossible to complete the main trail. We saw one parker employee who was very friendly and chatted to my five year old :) we did see plenty of wildlife, which was very exciting!
  • Great place to walk, take pictures, play, be one with nature and volunteer. The employees love what they do and you can tell. They take great care of this park. There have been lots of updates, improvements and additions.
