  • Arrived on a nice day to go for a walk. The paths are a little confusing (even though there are maps), but it's really not large enough to get lost. So although we went in directions we didn't plan, i...  more »

  • Lot of construction going on right now, but the future looks so bright. I came here all the time as a kid and loved exploring the trails and getting a peek at wildlife. As an adult this is really just a lovely place for a quick afternoon walk in a forest preserve just right outside the city. Beautiful natural features and well manicured trails.
  • This nature park is a little slice of heaven. You'll find 3 trails that are each about half a mile. They go through woods, over creeks, and through fields. You'll find plenty of wild life and forget that you're in the city. I go here just about every day at lunch.
  • Great area accessible to a lot of people, I drove by this place so many times before actually realizing what it was. My husband and I have gone for walks here and really enjoyed it. There are many trails of different lengths depending on your preferences. The trails are well marked and have beautiful sights, especially along the water in places. It has a nice playground for kids as well and plenty of benches for parents. Only complaint is that dogs are not welcome :(
  • Main parking lot is closed, have to use the auxiliary lot on the same road prior to the entrance. The visitor center is closed as of December 2016, no sign of it being completed in the near future, as of May 2017. Great nature trails in the city. Opportunities for wildlife viewing abound.
  • I love this park. No dogs!! Lots of trails. Breezy with a river. Haven't spotted a dogman yet.
