Where to stay in Ogunquit

Main Street holds the heart of the action in Ogunquit, and most of the town's inns, bed and breakfasts, and hotels sit on this street or close to it. A handful of establishments line Beach Street, which provides access to the town's highly regarded stretch of sand. You'll find additional bed and breakfasts as well as numerous vacation rentals in the form of houses, condominiums, and cottages in the area between Main Street and Israel Head Road on the coast. This area takes you away from the bustle of the center of town but still provides convenient access to Ogunquit Beach to the north and Perkins Cove--a small marina featuring a few restaurants and lobster shacks--to the south.

  • Abacus has stores in several Maine coastal towns and we always stop in. They always have new and unusual things and we always find something special to buy.  more »
  • I have been here before. A bright shop with many pretty things to purchase. Most of the items seen to be hand made by locals. No junk from China. Bird houses made from books --so unusual, $125. Expens...  more »
  • Went here to buy my mother in laws birthday gift and could have spent much more because everything is so unique! Staff is very friendly and lets you walk around and browse without being on top of you.  more »

  • Thank you so much for the space you have created! The new gallery, lighting, art, products and this seasons wonderful staff all contributes to a joyful shopping adventure. I, along with my dearest friends and family, have enjoyed your store for years. With all the recent growth and changes in Ogunquit and southern Maine, the region has become faster paced, more popular and at risk for losing it's identity. How wonderful to see operations like your store and gallery still providing warmth, class and quaintness which reflects the assets of many Maine coastal communities historically. You certainly remain as a flagship for the area helping to provide a year round destination for all the right reasons. Congratulations and thank you! James
  • Great looking store. Great products at a wide range of prices. I would love to shop here. So why the 1 star review? The absolute worst employees I've encountered at a retail location in a very long time. I'm including Target, etc when I say this. The first employee we encountered was sarcastic and voiced the fact that she didn't want to be there and didn't care what time they closed because she was out at 6. The 2nd employee we encountered (possibly a manager or owner as she was teaching another employee stock) was asked a simple question about some coasters we were considering purchasing. The woman did not even look in our direction but instead gave a very short and terse answer and proceeded in what she was doing prior to us approaching, without any offer of further assistance. Unfortunate as at this point I had approximately $300 worth of items I was planning on purchasing and because of the extremely poor customer service bought nothing.
