  • Wasn't able to tour but saw it pull into port, and able to read about it's history from ferry dock...Seems impressive. Office for the Potomac was next to ferry dock, but it was closed on Saturday.  more »
  • We had a group of family and friends that traveled to Oakland for this cruise and the weather was perfect! We tasted Lake County wines and cheese plus some finger foods. We saw dolphins and whales nea...  more »
  • This historical boat, which is a legend, was Franklin Roosevelt's presidential yacht from 1936 until his death in 1945. It was repaired and restored by the city of Oakland, now converted into an interesting attraction. For your visit, we had to wait the return of the ship, as there was a demonstration for children from a school. It is run by volunteers, that provides an answer to the many questions we asked. Highly recommended.

  • My husband and I took the Fourth of July cruise and it was amazing. It was impeccably run by kind and knowledgeable people. We saw multiple firework shows and enjoyed every minute of our trip. Also, as a teacher, it was great to be able to contribute to a nonprofit that dedicates itself to educating children about FDR, the Great Depression, and WW11. The employees were so dedicated to the furthering of education that when I mentioned I was a history teacher they gave me teaching materials to further the message of FDR and his important place in history. I cannot recommend the USS Potomac cruises enough. It is worth every penny!!
  • This is a historic ship with a friendly crew of volunteers, proud of their hard work to keep this vessel beautiful, clean, and part of our community. The Blues Cruise was a lot of fun! Bring a jacket any time it goes out on the bay, as it does get chilly even in the summer in all the wind.
  • To know and feel history you'll have to get on board Potomac an experience the past. Good information about its history easy to get to from parts of Oakland. Donations are always welcome.
  • I was so excited, arrived and it was closed, and I was so upset..........
  • The docents are friendly. I was the only one there to ask for a tour, so they gave one just for me. Also, there is free Wi-Fi near their office :-)
