  • Sunny and breezy days are best. Lots of restaurants, there's wine tasting, and you can grab kayaks and go into the water! It was a nice dock area with green patches and benches. One of our first memor...  more »

  • I enjoyed my visit of the Jack London Square. I particularly liked the fact that there was a Farmers market on Sunday which goes on to almost 3PM. The ambiance was nice, the waterfront was nice, and y...  more »

  • This place has changed a lot from long ago when I first visited. Although I rarely do come, the last couple of times I've been here has been a pleasant and impressive visit. There was even a boat show when I came. This time there was live entertainment and fun activities. And... the restaurants...my goodness. Food quality rivals any of the best the rest of the bay has to offer. This place has really come a long way. I will definitely come more often. Oh, and that chicken and waffles place is the best!!!
  • The good: USS Potomac A number of good mid- to up-scale restaurants, coffee shops, and a couple of cool pubs. SF ferry Decent festivals that aren't crazy crowded Walking along the waterfront. The bad: There's just not that much else. Plenty of "could be", which means plenty of empty storefronts. The Port of Oakland (what owns the area) needs to step up it's game to make it a better visiting destination, not just a dining destination.
  • If you love history and love a little walk around the harbor, this is a must! There is bowling and lots of restaurants you can have happy hour! There's a cute hotel and just a quaint area that you will loveā™” Not sure why it says it closes at 530pm. Maybe it's the office but the security is out and about and keeps a good eye on things. A very cool area that has jack London's saloon still in operation! Go check it out!
  • Jack London square has great restaurants and plank which is a bowling alley and more. Great place to have a party or host an event. There is the waterfront hotel which is very nice and the train station is right there which makes transportation much easier. The train goes North and South. Beats sitting in traffic.
  • Fun place to take the family on weekends when the vendors are there. Beautiful view of the mountains and water. Good places to eat, kind of pricey though. Parking garages right by the square!
