  • If you expect to find the kind of architecture Wright is known for, you'll be surprised - this is where it all started, but he was more traditional then. Still, you'll recognize clues as to where he w...  read more »
  • This tour is a must for anyone traveling to Chicago. It is very interesting to know the life and work of the famous architect Frank Lloyd being able to access the home and Studio in Oak Park. The entry with the right to take photos are $ 22. Groups for different tours that are made throughout the day are mounted. All are English-speaking and for visitors to another language a dossier is easier to follow the visit. If you're not wearing the Red bracelet they not allow you to take pictures. It is worth purchasing the full entry. After the visit I recommend miss the area and enjoy the typical American houses and their gardens. A very nice area.

  • Our tour guide, Mary, was great and informative. I had an amazing time here. I learned so much about this great architect and the reasoning behind his designs. It's just one tour of his first house that he designed. Walking tours of the other houses in the neighborhood comes separate. The tour lasted 1hr for $17 (adults). It's $14 if you bring your student ID. It will cost you $5 extra if you want to take pictures. Large bags will need to placed in their storage until the end of the tour.
  • Very cool to see how FLW modified his own home as he continued to experiment with styles. Fascinating features and great place to see. The library in particular was unique.
  • This was a fun tour. I would pay the extra for at least one person you are with to take photos. His work was amazing and eye catching. You won't want to miss the piano suspended in the children's play area!
  • Very nice tours. If you go on weekend be ready to spare 1 hour waiting time for your tour to start. Note that it is ONLY possible to see the place if you go with the guided tour and you can not see it yourself
  • The tour was nice and informative. I'm not an expert on Frank Lloyd Wright but I learned a lot and came away with an appreciation for his work. I suggest walking down the street and checking out the other private residences designed by Wright. After the tour you should have a good enough eye for his work that you wouldn't need the guide.
