  • Great lookout to take pictures and look at the waves crashing on black rocks. There is also a nice little beach at the bottom with potentially dangerous waves...
  • Great spot for surfing and bodyboarding.. No swimming allowed here. Huge lawn here with restrooms. Parking is limited.
  • I would prefer makapu beach over sandy beach for few reasons. Less number of people. Same view, in fact better view than sandy beach. breezes. Easy tides and soothing currents But this has better easier parking accessibility and more number of surfers.
  • ***BREAK YO NECK BEACH*** ***BUTTOCKS BEACH*** Just past the famous Blowhole, this is the hot spot for locals, both young and old. Perfect for boogie/body boarding. BEWARE: shoreline breaks hard and only experienced swimmers & borders most of the season. If you look like a tourist, the lifeguards will tell you not to get in the water. If you're a boarder, bring shorty fins. Food trucks in the middle. Restrooms in the center. Great place for kites. Enjoy! Mahalo! Brian Hargis Local Guide
  • Beautiful, strong waves undercurrent, has great parking, toilets and showers. 1 food truck. There's life guards patrol towers. Need to drive here.
