Diamond Jo Casino Reviews
Really liked the casino, but it was really smoky. I wonder why this type of atmosphere still exists in this day. It seems like the smokers are even more rude knowing that they can blow smoke where eve... more »
We visited on a Sunday late morning/early afternoon. We were on our way back to the twin cities and decided to check it out. The staff was awesome. I've been to Las Vegas countless times and never exp... more »
This was my first time at this casino, I obtained a players card. You have to play approximately $10 in the slot machines to qualify for the perks. My perk for a free buffet meal. Then you have to cas... more »
I walked into the Casino on 12/4 @ 9:45pm, looked at some of the Blackjack tables. I asked if I could sit-down at one of the tables, which had a Handicap sign on it, the Pit Boss said I could. I gave the dealer a $100 bill to color up, which she did, then was told by the same Supervisor, I couldn't play there... It was reserved for a Handicap person. There wasn't a Handicap person in a wheelchair in the building. I told him I would move if someone needed that spot, he said absolutely not and to move. I walked over to the cashier, gave her my chips, took my $100 bill and left...WILL NEVER COME BACK!!! I totally felt discriminated...I couldn't play a table game because I wasn't Handicap.
Great staff! Food is good. A very nice casino. But the band was fantastic! I would come back just to see him. I think his name is Jake Mcvey.
Pros: Easy to get to and has a fairly large variety of gaming options considering the area it's in. Cons: Generally not kept clean, staff seems unhappy 90% of the time, buffet used to be great years ago and now it's just meh. Been to many casinos in Iowa and elsewhere and this one just seems overly tight. Can put $200 in one machine and if you are lucky enough to maybe get a bonus it's payout is like $10 or less. Maybe the IRGC is corrupt too as if they truly audit this place correctly there's something wrong.
Wife and I did a drive by and went in to check it out. Get past the smoke filled area, all the way to the back for the pretend smoke free area. Played some pennies and left.
Great table game selection taking one star off due to the sexual advancement of an older male blackjack dealer. I don’t oppose same sex marriage etc but this is reminiscent of too many L&E SVU episodes.
