  • We walked up from the the parking lot... had to wait outside the garden with my dog while friend went inside. Continued you to the Mount Eliot summit.  more »

  • This is my happy place. Beautiful and quiet any time of year, but especially in July and August when the flowers are blooming. Go early in the morning to beat the crowds
  • A lovely garden, in a quieter part of Mt Desert Island, well-tended, contemplative, and free (though donations are accepted). Drive up via the entrance, or park by the main road and take a short hike up.
  • Relaxing and beautiful. The lady in the Lodge absolutely LOVES her job. I regret not spending more time in the Lodge and Library... there are so many intricate details I must have missed.
  • Excellent place to visit. The walk up from the lower parking lot provides excellent views of the harbor via 2 lookout huts. The cabin at the top is immaculately preserved. Public restrooms are available.
  • An amazing garden. The walk is no long and worth the hike. You can drive up there as well but the walk is wonderful.
