  • Located in North Miami Beach which is a short distance from West Dixie Hwy this ancient Spanish monastery is very special, especially for its history. It is actually a construction started in Spain in 1141 and finished in 1133; only after many years, to be exact in 1925 was bought and transported piece by piece in the United States where he remained in a warehouse in New York until 1952, when they passed the property and was re-built in the current location. The area that accommodates the entire monastery is a big garden with plants, flowers and lawn; There is a small shop where to shop near the ticket booth and there is also an exhibition area that contains, among other things, a hearse of the Spanish period, armour of the 17th century and a walnut wardrobe in its time used by Pope Urban VII. Inside you can find a well, several chapels, various cloisters at each cardinal point and many decorations, both statues that Royal coats of arms. In my opinion, being a rarity in the United States, is an attraction not to be missed. The cost of the ticket, $10 per person, is amply justified.

  • Very nice, with a beautiful monastery territory). Made a wonderful photo. We hit on a day of wedding agencies. Still, it was decorated with flowers. Were treated to coffee and chantarelle-PEAR tartalet.

  • Incredible place to take family pictures or have a wedding 😊 Very rich in history and character 👍
  • Very impressive! $10 general admission or $5 if you have a student ID. This is the oldest structure you can see in the United States. Which, for me having not been out of the US much, made this a very cool experience. Once you know the story of how this monastery got her, you will appreciate it's construction that much more. It is also still used for worship, so you may actually get the chance to see locals practicing their faith. Which made the experience even better to me.
  • Beautiful place to visit in Miami, it's so quiet, it has nice landscape to take many awesome photos!!!!
  • This is a must see place in Miami. An old monastery brought over from Europe and reassembled here. They also hold messes. It's a very tranquility place. You can see some people doing yoga in the gardens. Make sure you explore the big tree at the right side of the property and follow the little path to a stone maze on the ground.
  • This building is unbelievable, Magic... Every stone have a story to tell, the art, the age and the amazing architecture of this creation... If you appreciate the Art, you can't miss visit this place
