  • This was one of those "bring your spouse along" business trips. After a great Sunday lunch following church, we were looking for something to do that wouldn't require the whole day. After a brief sear...  more »

  • We came across this place completely by accident and decided to explore it. The monastery itself a reconstruction from a disassembled monastery in Spain that was shipped overseas. Admission at the time was $5.00 for a student to explore the entire property, $10.00 for regular admission. The exhibits provided a bit of history, the gardens ambience, and the church a bit of sobriety. All three were quite beautiful and photoshoot-ready in mid-summer. There was an abundance of cats in the garden, none of which were bothersome and if anything were quite friendly and relaxed. Upon further exploration we discovered a small maze amidst the trees which was quite charming. Ultimately, this reconstructed monastery/museum is a little gem hidden amidst the crowded traffic of Miami. It is a little world of its own and I imagine it would be a refreshing visit for one who wants to enjoy a little bit of peace and open space.
  • Great place to visit. It's not that large but very nice views. Love the old structural architecture
  • Front desk could not charge my card that we used before and right after that place so we could not go in......... Oh well there are other places to visit.....
  • Very impressive! $10 general admission or $5 if you have a student ID. This is the oldest structure you can see in the United States. Which, for me having not been out of the US much, made this a very cool experience. Once you know the story of how this monastery got her, you will appreciate it's construction that much more. It is also still used for worship, so you may actually get the chance to see locals practicing their faith. Which made the experience even better to me.
  • The energy of the place feels pretty mystical and peaceful. I always look forward to my next visit.
