  • Great place to stay. All of the campgrounds are extremely well maintained and there is electric for all the camp sites. The nature center is great and they have plenty of mountain bike trails and plenty of walking trails. The lake is awesome but if you plan to take a boat then watch out for the underwater treestumps they might break your prop. But overall it is a great place to go for camping and i forgot to mention they have bathrooms and showers with hot and cold water.
  • Nice state park. Love the wilderness. There isn't enough fishing areas and options though unless you have a boat. And I hate having to worry about water moccasins too. Kind of scary.
  • Wonderful for nature trails. Their beach is very clean. Only draw back is the swimming area is to shallow and not big enough. But on the bright side if your just bringing small children then it's perfect.
  • Potato Creek is one of my favorite parks! It has so much to offer! It's beautiful, clean and there are so many fun things to do there. Great camping, clean, fun cabins, paddle boats, canoes, and fishing boats to rent, great picnic spots, trails to hike, paved bike trails, mountain bike trails, wildlife viewing, a fun nature center....these are some of the things Potato Creek has to offer. One of my favorite things is seeing the bald eagles that have come back to the area.
  • Stayed at horsemen's campground for a night. A little pricey in comparison to other similar quality places we've stayed. There are better than 60 sites available, and there is electric at each. Water is only available at maybe a dozen locations about the grounds and not intended for trailer service, but rather filling buckets, washing hands, etc. Trails are nice. About 8 miles of options. What we rode was fairly well kept with generally smooth/even footing for the horses. Some ponding on trails though. All in all it was a good place, and likely one we'd consider returning to again to camp and ride.
