Very nice gardens. A large variety of roses, dahlias and tropical plants. Very well maintained. Beautiful place to visit if the roses are in bloom.
Have been going to the gardens for years. There about every 5 years or so. Was disappointed in what I saw. Being an avid gardener with about on half acre under cultivation with a good size koi pond, I know a good garden when I see it and one that is on the downside. While the show is the roses and dalias which are yery nice all I saw in the perennial and Japanese garden was neglect. The perennial garden is a jumble of overgrown plants with no attention to placement or color. The Japanese gardens which have historically been interesting have been reduced to a collection of trees. Nothing interesting was going on at the garden floor. The koi were colorful and healthy. The water was begging for more filtration. Roses worth the trip but maybe not the price. I hope the give the other parts of the garden a good overhaul - then it would be worth it.
Arrived at 5:10 with my two girls, the two women in admissions didn't even let us come in because they closed at 530. And they pretty much threatened they close the gate right on the dot at 530. Rude. I've never even done a review this is my first but I felt I needed to tell about my experience.
Beautiful gardens. Check out Reggae and Roses August 5th
Very nice, always love seeing the Japanese garden and the fish.
