  • Highly recommended to take one day driving this highway. Diablo lake lookout and Washington Pass are amazing. Don't miss them.
  • Took us way longer than the average drive because we stopped, took tons of pictures, and hiked. The scenery was breathtaking! Stretch your legs at Trail of the Cedars, the overlooks, and Rainy Lake. W...  read more »
  • The North Cascade National Park is for the most part still called "Wilderness era" which here is assigned to the great diversity of species, permanently and sustainably to protect! This is also the reason why there are only so few facilities here compared with other national parks and seems a rather lonely! The visitor center in Newhalem in the West of the Park is therefore also relatively small. The Highway 20 crosses the entire Park more or less in West-East direction and all major viewpoints, such as for example the worthwhile overview of Diablo Lake is located directly on Highway 20. Therefore there is virtually nothing more after the park entrance in the West until the place Winthrop in the East, so before fill up and provide with food! You should use one of the many "trails" but anyway to explore the unique wilderness near the skin and maybe to see the one or the other animals in the wild! Good Footwear is very appropriate!
