Tourist Spot
Embark on a guided or self-guided tour of USS Wisconsin BB-64, one of the largest battleships the U.S. Navy has ever constructed. The giant, decommissioned battleship, known as "Wisky," was launched Dec. 7, 1943, and served in World War II and the Korean War. Take a tour of the deck, which runs just over 270 m (887 ft). Then choose from two guided tours of the interior of the ship: The Topside Tour provides a look at the administration area, radio room, captain's cabin, and combat engagement center. The Main Street USN Tour gives you a glimpse into the life of a common sailor aboard the ship, where you'll see the ship's laundry, bakery, doughnut shop, and galley. • This once beautiful ship needs a lot of TLC. Nauticus next door has improved tremendously.- thumbs up  more »

  • Very interesting to visit a ship already participated in several battles and has a lot of story to tell.

  • Super cool ship. I've been to other battleships (USS North Carolina & Alabama) and the Wisconsin is by far the largest. It also had a 50 yr service life, which allows you to experience a blend of both WWII and Desert Storm era technology. Only downside is that most of the ship is still inaccessible to the public. The areas that are open (living areas, mess halls, radio rooms, gun turret) are cool, but places like the engine rooms and bridge are notably unavailable.
  • Was able to visit and tour the USS Wisconsin at Nauticus while in Norfolk. An amazing piece of history to see and walk upon first hand...you just don't get the true understanding of how amazing these ships are until you see them in person. Highly recommend you stop by and visit. The museum has a ton of interesting naval artifacts to include scale models, videos and polite staff to answer questions if you have any.
  • Had an extra 2 hours before our flight out and decided to run through the USS Wisconsin museum. So glad we did! I could've easily spent twice as much time here but just an incredibly interesting piece of history that shouldn't be missed by a person of any age.
  • Great tour and museum. The kids loved all the hands on learning and climbing all over the ship.
  • An amazing journey into the past. A great tribute to our Navy. Plan on more than the 1.5 hours I read on the Internet. The ship alone took us 2+ hours. We did not read every thing. There are several different areas within the nauticus museum for all ages, from interactive exhibits to movies to informational displays and guided and non guided tours. Wish we went earlier!
