USS Wisconsin BB-64, Norfolk

4.6
Embark on a guided or self-guided tour of USS Wisconsin BB-64, one of the largest battleships the U.S. Navy has ever constructed. The giant, decommissioned battleship, known as "Wisky," was launched Dec. 7, 1943, and served in World War II and the Korean War. Take a tour of the deck, which runs just over 270 m (887 ft). Then choose from two guided tours of the interior of the ship: The Topside Tour provides a look at the administration area, radio room, captain's cabin, and combat engagement center. The Main Street USN Tour gives you a glimpse into the life of a common sailor aboard the ship, where you'll see the ship's laundry, bakery, doughnut shop, and galley. This was a nice piece of history to tour, but believe it could have been better. More staff for assisting.  more »

This was my first trip to any naval museum and it was worth it. The Iowa class battleships have always been my favorite class of naval vessel and this visit really put the ship into proportion. I high...  more »

I really enjoyed touring the USS Wisconsin. I didn't have much time since I got there late in the day, but I was able to walk the deck and climb up a few levels. Peeked in on the short intro film, and...  more »

The museum was large, well organized. Lots of fascinating exhibits. And included with the museum is a tour of the battleship. Which was fantastic. The guide was very knowledgeable and patient and kind in answering questions. The ship itself is quite breath taking.

The USS Wisconsin is part of the Nauticus museum entry fee, all for a very reasonable cost. You could spend hours exploring the packed museum and the battleship. The people there are friendly and eager to answer questions. A great afternoon activity.

Super cool ship. I've been to other battleships (USS North Carolina & Alabama) and the Wisconsin is by far the largest. It also had a 50 yr service life, which allows you to experience a blend of both WWII and Desert Storm era technology. Only downside is that most of the ship is still inaccessible to the public. The areas that are open (living areas, mess halls, radio rooms, gun turret) are cool, but places like the engine rooms and bridge are notably unavailable.

I didn't get the chance to go aboard. But from the ground, this thing is breathtaking. This is a great place to visit, especially if you're into history.

Awesome ship! Friendly staff! Museum was very informative and had alot of content. Tour price is fair, and 2nd floor tour is free! Great experience!
