  • Had a very nice visit. I wish Museums would realize most of the visitors are older than 10 & need bigger signs higher up on the walls. Even so it was great! Would recommend to anyone who loves history...  more »
  • I have been here many times and really enjoy strolling the lawn or touring the historic home. They also have some great special events periodically.  more »
  • The house/Museum wasn't open but we wandered around the grounds and saw the Stick sculpture being installed. The collection of millstones used in the gardens and grounds were interesting.  more »

  • The museum its a gem, a friend got married at this location the staff is top notch and the sunset views are amazing...
  • Beautiful grounds and buildings--although it is an art museum--the whole house is one!
  • This is most likely one of the most overlooked gems of the region. The Hermitage Museum is beautifully situated on the Elizabeth River. Acres of gardens, woods, and coastal environments while the house contains a deep and eclectic fine art collection. A great place to take out of town guests.
  • Wonderful place to visit! Gardens and house are beautiful. So much art and history that beautifully complements each other.
  • I've visited this quaint little morsel of hidden history in Norfolk, since I was in high school. I'm still impressed with their gardens, grounds and of course the art on display. The hermitage building itself is a work of art.
