  • This museum is housed in the middle of the Nauticus, which, in my opinion, is good and bad. It's good because it gets the exposure, but not good, because it's presented in a drier manner than the fun ...  more »
  • Not only is this a free museum, it is maintained by the Navy. Wonderful exhibits. Every day they have official ceremonies on the Wisconsin (next door), and the staff let us know what was going on and ...  more »
  • The HRNM is part of the Nauticus complex, but its a great stand alone museum visit because it does the entire HR Naval history and a great depiction of the capture of U-505.  more »

  • While the museum is an amazing place with a lot of history, mostly of the warships in WW2, what I envy the most is the apartments that are bang opposite the museum. What a view every time you look out the window - the USS Wisconsin. The pier is packed with information about various warships and there is a small kind of memorial in the gardens of the apartment complex. Make sure to walk around after visiting the museum. Traffic can be a hassle as there is a cruise liner that docks right next to the museum and gets extremely crowded. There is a parking structure in a nearby perpendicular street.
  • Great way to spend a few hours.
  • We got stuck before we even started: The very friendly educator at the front desk took about 20 minutes for a conversation with us about the beginnings of America, the people and ships involved and more. This was really fun - thank you! The exhibition is great, I loved the models and the videos, and the amount of information is just right for about an hour or so.
  • A hidden jewel in Nauticus and it's free. Unfortunately the Wisconsin is no longer free. Some neat displays, especially the recreation of the monitors turret.
  • Not what I expected, first of all very confusing to find, when you walk in they try to get to you to buy tickets for the battleship tour, if you ask where the museum is they'll begrudgingly tell you, has a few interesting artifacts, would be better if they had more staff dedicated to historical education instead of trying to sell tickets.
