  • GREAT MUSEUM! WONDEFUL ART COLLECTION! AND FOR FREE!!! One of the best parts of this Museum was that it all was for FREE (no admission or parking fee)! I was very surprised since the museum is very big and they have a huge collection. I especially was in AWE of the paintings and sculptures upstairs. They were fascinating and beautiful and very old. A piece of history! They had some relics of Egypt like a sarcophagus and things of the Roman empire as well! Just awesome! If you enjoy and appreciate Art this Museum is a must see. Great place! Highly recommended!!
  • Very neat selection of art pieces. They also have some unique ancient times pieces as well. The Herb Ritts photography was amazing too! See while you can! Free Admission every day!
  • This is a fantastic, world class art museum. The setting is beautiful and there is adequate parking. One of the best glass collections of any museums I have been too. There is a delightful cafĂ© as well.
  • A wonderful place to visit with the family, friends, a partner, or even by yourself! If you are looking for something to do in Norfolk that is culturally invigorating and a great learning experience the Chrysler Museum of Art is absolutely a gem for the Hampton Roads area! They have an amazing collection of art, artifacts, and sculptures that is always changing and growing. Some must sees include the glass art/sculpture exhibits (which is renowned), the free glass studio exhibitions at the museum's own studio, and the wonderful painting collections from centuries of the past and today! The museum is run completely on donations and sponsorship with wonderful staff volunteers, so the admission is free for everyone, which is great for a family with children or someone on a budget looking to experience something new! I've been here several times with my girlfriend and I bring my family here every time someone stops into town. Next time around I plan on making a personal donation of my own for all the great experiences the museum has offered to me and my loved ones, so other can continue to enjoy the Chrysler for free. I would highly recommend to anyone who has not had a chance to check it out for themselves!
  • This is the best art museum I have ever been to. There are so many works by great artists like Velazquez, Rubens, Cezanne, Monet, Picasso, Warhol, Pollock, Bernini, Matisse, Hopper, and many others. The museum is large so I would suggest spending at least an hour and thirty minutes there. The quality of the paintings was spectacular and include massive altarpieces, tapestries, murals, and installation art. It also has a collection of archaeological antiquities including a massive Egyptian stone sarcophagus and colossal statues of roman people. The special exhibitions are also very nice. For a free museum, this place is high quality. They do have a suggested donation though.
