  • Not far from Columbia, South Carolina, I recommend a trip here to see the 20 minute movie about the American Revolution. Americans fought on both sides. There is a paved one mile hike around the Star ...  more »
  • Excellent place! History is interesting, and the grounds are well-maintained. I was amazed that the fort looks so good after 200+ years. The visitor center has lots of good information, and the trail ...  more »

  • Excellent National Park film at Visitor Center helps to understand colonial Life on the frontier in 1750's as well as explaining the Dynamics and fort construction building towards the Siege of Ninety Six in 1781. Assorted walking trails such as The Cherokee Path through woodlands are beautiful and filled with wildflowers. An enjoyable experience and a terrific place to bring visitors.
  • I stopped here on my pilgrimage to revolution battlefields. This is one of the smaller battlegrounds but an important on for American independence. There are nice views and the rangers seem to be very knowledgeable. Before I visited here I had never heard of this site. This is well worth the trip and be sure to pack a picknick lunch when the weather permits.
  • Lovely park setting! Lots of history to experience plus nature and a wonderful paved walkway to make it accessible to everyone. This is a gem just a little "off the beaten track". Definitely plan on going back again to ride the horse trails and check out the small lake. Loved it!
  • Very good place to walk a dog. There is a pond down the gravel road that thrails go to. Very good history at the battlefield site.
  • Only giving 4 Stars due to the rude main park Ranger. We went there on a field trip. Our daughter had the best time other then the rude main park Ranger and then when they had activities there was a very rude Ranger guy that was rascit to my mixed daughter. I said something to him and it all changed afterwards. The best part was seeing all the education my daughter got from just one park. She loved it and said it was the best.
