  • This woodsy, well-kept state park lies just off Hwy. 20 in Niceville, Fl. Once you are cosily tucked into one of its spacious, shady camping spots, it is hard to believe you are even close to a busy h...  read more »
  • I believe it costs $5 to get in, but with the season pass it's free. Overall clean and well kempt. It has trails, picnic areas, and a boat launch. It's adjacent to Rocky Bayou which goes to the bay.
  • The staff is very cooperative and personal with guests. Facilities are very good and close to Niceville. Sites are clean and ready for occupancy.
  • Amazing!! Doesn't look like much on the map, but has amazing habitat diversity. Trails are well designed. Informative media placed throughout the park. Most of the trails are shaded by large trees. So, might be good for midday when the sun is baking you everywhere else. Did I mention they have pitcher plants??
  • If you have pitbulls DO NOT come to this place. We payed to stay here for a week, as we were packing up to pull our camper out my sweet two year old pit Nila got out. A woman with a stroller was walking by and Nila who absolutely loves kids, keep in mind pitbulls are known for being "nanny dogs." The woman acted like everything was fine & ended up calling the park rangers. After speaking with the park ranger they asked what kind of dog we had & we proceeded to tell them it doesn't matter what the breed was if my dog was " ferocious." They then called FWC to write us a citation. FWC even agreed that the whole situation was stupid but the park was still pushing for a tresspassing warning. We are now band for a year even though our family has time share there & we paid $115 to stay there. So if you want your dog to be judge & mistreated not to mention the constant harassment about parking DO NOT come here! I've never in my life met people so judgemental. That being said go educate yourself on this misunderstood breed.
  • Beautiful state park, very reasonably priced. Sites are spacious, bathroom facilities were clean and well attended. Ample sites for picnics. Boat launch is in great condition and the adjacent Rocky Bayou is a perfect place to water ski or have an evening boat cruise.
  • This is a great place! We dock the boat here and go out in the gulf. There are nature walks, playgrounds and restrooms. I suggest buying the annual pass. I meet clients here a lot in the spring and fall for family portraits. Juda Fritts Fritts Photos 850-714-PICS
  • Very well maintained park, South of the bustle of Destin. Bathrooms and showers: immaculate. Great access to a bay. Workout course. If you are a hammock hanger, call to get a site that hammocks are permitted in bc you cannot tie anything to a tree in FL state park.
