A beautiful mountain course with considerable elevation changes. Front is more of a placement, shot making course. Back nine is wider with longer carries off the tees... Beautiful new clubhouse but li... read more »
Great course. Excellent shape. Greens were a bit slow but were true. Superb use of elevation changes and doglegs. Whites were medium difficulty. If you played these every day and got to know the cours... read more »
What a great golf course overlooked by the ski slopes of this great resort. Sunday River have done a great job to carve out a tight but fair course around the mountains. A destination I'll definitely ... read more »
Fantastic golf course! Probably the best I've played and I've played a LOT of them. The scenery simply cannot be beat and the elevation changes are fantastic. Shot an 80 from the back tees last summer that would have been even par or under at a typical course, so pick your tee according to your skill level or it's quite difficult.
Wow this course is beautiful, from the drive through the mountains in route to the course to the 18 holes perfectly placed overlooking the Jordan Bowl portion of Sunday River. Would have given it a 4 star rating but had issues with reservations which could have been a major issue. If I had not called to confirm a week before we would have been stuck without a tee time (had made reservations 2 1/2 months in advance for 12 players). Overall a great experience and would recommend to anyone looking to play phenomenal course.
Great course with the best views around. This is short season mountain golf course so you should expect the fairways will not be in pristine shape. Tee boxes and greens are always great, staff is super accommodating.
Terrible value. It should be a $90 round, tops, not $129. Quite a number of fairways were in awful shape. We provided feedback afterwards and were simply told, "You are not alone". I would recommend they think about different ways to handle complaints/constructive criticism, too. What a shame, because the views are amazing.
I have been slowly trying to play every golf course in Maine and NH for the last 3 years, and have played quite a few courses. Sunday river is overpriced over crowded and the employees were grumpy and down right beligerent at times. The great views (and they are great) are tough to really take in, they pack you in so tight on that course that you will always have the feeling of slow play even though you hardly have enough time to just view the scenery. The 2 hour drive from Portland (depending on traffic more or less) also leaves much to be desired. They don't meet you with a cart, don't clean your clubs, and they also don't have any handicapped parking. The quality of the course is fair the greens weren't great and the fairways weren't bad but for around 100 bucks you can golf at better places.
