Extending from the Oregon coast into the Pacific Ocean, Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area houses the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, the tallest lighthouse on the Oregon coast. The lighthouse has been in operation for over 140 years. Admire the views of Newport and the coast, and explore the tide pools and the beach while watching for harbor seals. If you're lucky, you may be able to catch a glimpse of gray whales on their annual migration. The only way to gain access to the historical lighthouse is through a brief free tour.   • this is a light house perched high on a cliff. if you want to pay you can go up inside it to take great pictures. The ocean, seals, and tidepools make this a must see.  more »
