  • I have been to the day use park, but hadn't had a chance to try out the campground until this last weekend. First of all this review only applies to tent camping. I don't know what it is like to RV ca...  read more »
  • We booked 5 nights in the middle of August, middle of the week, using Reserve America. The process for the reservation was good however you could easily get in to a lot of trouble if you have a bigger...  read more »
  • This campground is too crowded.... Why not just park your TV in a parking lot? The facilities are fine... Staff are fine... No complaints there... And the obsolete loud fog?.... You get used to this.....  read more »
  • This is our 2nd yr. camping here. We must like it, cause we came back & brought in-laws.😉 Plenty of camp staff around for whatever. Nice, Big, Clean, camp sites. Showers & toilets were cleaned, but no one is perfect. I'd get a different kind of TP, its a little ruff.😀 Easy access to the beach or jetty with decent trails. We'll be coming back.😘
  • Super nice staff and the yurts are so fun to stay in, especially during the rainier months--and cheap, too! Think about staying here if you're traveling to Newport and don't want (or can't find) a hotel. We loved having access such easy to the beach--the Oregon coast is gorgeous. Only one complaint--we wish there were more yurts that allowed pets. Seems so logical.
  • Hot showers! Need I say more on a cold foggy morning. The facilities are top notch. I was just passing through and needed a hot shower. For non-campers they only charge $2.00. Such a blessing when you are traveling. I took a look around while I was here, too. The grounds were very clean and well-kept.
  • I had a great experience staying at this campground! The beach was easily accessible and the staff was very friendly. I had an incident of losing my bathroom bag and the one of the young rangers was kind enough to search during closed hours to find it. My son loved the playground and it was central enough that it could be easily viewed from the camping sites. You can also walk to the Newport Aquarium and the Rogue Brewery or check out the boat docks from there.
  • We stayed this past July, and it was okay, but had some serious drawbacks. First, the sites felt pretty close together, though that is perhaps a function of there being so many sites in the park. Second, there were mosquitoes everywhere. They were so bad it made you consider the long walk to the beach - a portion of which you have to walk through a wetter area that breeds these critters. Finally, we were there in a trailer, and the dump station at the exit has just one station with very little room for people to line up. We were essentially forced to leave w/o dumping the trailer. Nehalem Bay State Park farther north had none of these problems.
