  • It looks beautiful but it's outdoor signage only reflects architectural details. For everyone who can't get in, it would be nice if you could see what's so famous about this place.
  • Apparently, this fort never really saw a battle but it is magnificent. It's a hug and it it a great place to explore. It is worth a visit. This fort does not get federal funding from what I learned. T...  more »
  • This tour takes about an hour. Our guide was very informative, and the time flew past. Without going in to the fort you really have no idea that it exists.

  • Great spot for scenic water/boat views, photography, fishing, walking or jogging. My yorkie loves the park to run around in the off season. I have picnic'd here many a summer w/ my mom & doggie. Fort tours, Halloween & ghost attractions in fall are awesome, not to mention the folk & jazz festivals held here every summer among other events.
  • Really neat tour. The fort is already pretty run down so they don't mind if you touch things. The tunnels are the coolest thing.
  • A must-visit when you're in Newport, RI, Fort Adams is as majestic a fort as it is historic. During the summer, there are numerous activities for locals and tourists alike. If you are lucky, you might also see various cruise ships dock or pass by. Before leaving, make sure to visit the Museum of Yachting too!
  • Went for folk festival. Beautiful setting. My only complaint was the organization for buying beer with tokens. The token line was way too long. They need more token tables in the future.
  • Great scene/walk/run/tour spot. There's a 2-mile loop that is easy to run. You can't get lost, but you can get lost in the scenery.
