Almost exclusively residential, this neighborhood contains lavish mansions built by affluent summer vacationers, including the Astor and Vanderbilt families. These homes represent examples of various architectural styles and showcase designs of some of the most innovative architects working at the turn of the 20th century, like Richard Upjohn and Richard Morris Hunt.
