  • This was an absolute waste of time. The only thing they have there is about 5 fish, 4 are blind and one is dead. They do have a crab but that is it. I demanded my money back. The cashier looked at me with embarrassment and just said nothing and gave me my money back. He did later mention the owner does not take care of them and that they are from Canada. It is so sad that they are robbing people at $15 a person as people plan their ocean vacation. Do not go here. The gift shop on the other hand is very nice, high-priced but they do have some nice things.
  • My husband found the idea of seeing native sea life charming. I was not impressed. The main attraction was the fact that you were in a large underground aquarium. Glass was dirty and there wasn't much fish wise that was impressive for the price of admission. Not were there any bathrooms on premises.
  • I don't normally leave bad feedback, but this was AWFUL. I only went here because it was part of the Groupon deal that got me into the three attractions. Had I paid full price for this, I would have demanded my money back. First, this place is super tiny. The water is murky and you can't see anything real well. My heart broke for those poor animals. The tide pool isn't monitored so people who can't control their children were allowing their little monsters to stab the animals in the tide pool area. Also, their tank had dead fish. Don't tell me that it is a sleeping eel when it is decaying in front of me.
  • Please promise me you will not waste your money here. Please. Wish there was a zero star option. If you want to see something better take $20, throw it in the bay, and watch it sink. The place stinks, it hasn't been updated in years, and the fish aren't pleasant to look at. Very cheesy presentation too.
  • Fishermen take live critters here when they catch them so kids can see them while they heal. great concept! Go during the fall and avoid the long lines

Where to stay in Newport

In Newport, the majority of the lodgings are inside old, renovated grand Victorians near the coast or cottages close to the beach. If you're interested in accommodations on the water (cove, bay, or beach), look into the city's inns. The Yaquina Bay area provides excellent views and access to the nearby national park of the same name, while a few economy accommodations are located in the town center.
