  • We attended the Fall Folk Arts Festival this past weekend in this park. Really enjoyed walking some of the many trails in this park. Hope to return in the future. My daughter who recently moved to New...  read more »
  • Newport News Park encompasses a nearly incredible 7,711 acre tract. That is just over twelve square miles of parkland, and if it can politely and decently be done outdoors, there is a place here to do...  read more »
  • I have frequented this park for couple reasons. One is family/friends picnic, other is children entertainment and walk (exercises) around the trails. If you love animal kingdom this a great place for ...  read more »
  • This is a great park. Lots or trails for walking and for bikes. Nicely taken care of and lots of park rangers keeping an eye on everything. I haven't stayed in the RV or camping area but friends have said good things about it. Lots of events are held here also and they are always fun. Very family friendly and very kid friendly.
  • I have been to all 3 playgrounds at this park and they are all a lot of fun with tons to do for all ages! Also it is such a beautiful experience to see all of the deer that graze lazily through the park. You are able to get close enough to them to observe. This park also includes disk golf, golf course, archery, hiking trails and so much more!!!
  • Beautiful forest campground with large, flat sites, clean, spacious bathroom facilities with hot water, nice playground, trails. Very convenient to the historic triangle and Williamsburg activities. Grocery not too far. Even the temporary office has a little camp store, likely much bigger when the permanent office is finished. Good prices on ice and wood (which burned fairly well). Didn't get a chance to use the lake, but swimming and boat rentals available. Lots of geocaches around. Entire campground was nearly empty during our weeklong stay (mon to fri) and very peaceful. Loved site C96. A hidden gem!
  • Twice I've had to deal with the park rangers, and twice they've been incredibly condescending. Apparently one of those times, I "passed a big sign" saying not to go past and park my car beyond it. There was literally no one else parked in by the bathrooms and she could have been MUCH less annoying and condescending about it. It's a half decent park with a nice 5 mile running loop. But there is a lot of nearby road traffic noise for about half of the loop.
  • Family friendly park. Running trails, boating, camping, fishing, archery, bike rentals, golf, and many more outdoor activities It's a big park with lots to do. I sold myself and should be spending some time there this weekend on the trails. I really want to learn to golf and think this would be a great place to learn.
