Newport on the Levee Reviews
Recently, I had the good fortune of traveling to Ohio and opted to stay across the great Ohio River in Newport Kentucky rather than stay in Cincinnati. During my stay, I visited the Newport on the Lev... more »
Game on is a good place to eat and hang with the family before or after the aquarium. We usually go after but we only travel 45 mins to get here. I think if we traveled longer we would go there first ... more »
My husband and I were visiting Cincinnati for a week near Christmas. Star Wars came out, and we had to see it. So, my husband found us an Imax theater to visit while on our trip. We went to Newport on... more »
This area is really on the decline. I would not go here if I had shopping in mind, and I feel the vendors inside the "mall" are really fighting a losing battle. There are no brands that attract a crowd. Thus, there's really no reason a consumer would consider the area as an option. I do like Barnes and Noble, but that's all they have in way of shopping. There are several restaurants here which is convenient if you are planning a dinner and a movie type of night. I've eaten at Dewey's and Brother's and the food is pretty good. I think renovating the movie theater to keep up with the push towards reclining seats and luxury accommodations was a good move. I makes for a more enjoyable movie-watching experience, without a doubt.
It's a week designed place but there are.a few empty storefronts, which take away the energy. The Aquarium is wonderful as well as the movie theater. It should improve dramatically when the Levee gets the new 180 foot tall Sky Wheel and pier right on the river's edge.
Went to see a back to back showing of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. It's a gorgeous venue with great staff and a drink bar where you can refill your own soda! We were there for 6 hours total but we were having so much fun the time flew by! There's also a balcony so of you need to step outside to make a phone call or hit your ecig, it's easy.
Tonight I was patiently waiting for my movie when I witnessed something truly disgusting. Security officer “key” walked up to four black men and started harassing them and telling them they needed to leave. My brother and I walked up to them to ask the officer what the problem was and he stated that they were underage and could not wait for their movie on the floor below the theatre, which would have been fine if he had done the same to all of the rest of the underage people waiting on that floor as well. In fact he hadn’t even asked for their ID until after he told them they had to leave. I asked him where I could report him and he repeatedly pointed down below and said “down there”. He then lied and stated that he was the supervisor. Those young men weren’t doing a damn thing but charging their cell phones and waiting for their movie, just like the rest of us. He only ended up calling another officer in to talk about the issue once multiple people had surrounded him to confront him about the fact that there were multiple underage people waiting on the same floor, and that there was no need to single these young men out when they were just charging their phones quietly. I’m not the only one that paid witness to his disgusting behavior tonight. I hope you take action and make this a learning experience for the rest of your staff. This is not the only page I will post this on, more people will know about this man and his actions tonight.
I personally love the Levee. It has a lot to offer like the Cinema, Barnes and Noble with a Starbucks w/ an outdoor cafe and view of the Cincy skyline, the aquarium and all the fun restaurants. I will say that I miss the Shadow Box Cabaret. The Levee is a lot of fun for the young and old. You can’t beat the view and the access to all the excitement during festivals and concerts.
