  • Great place for a walk. Stay for a while and watch the fishermen catch fish or struggle with a sea lion to get to a fish first. Sometimes you can see whales and dolphins swim by. Lovely view of Newpor...  more »

  • I love to walk out in the pier. Be sure to look back at views. They are wonderful. Seagulls frequently sit in the pier and great photo op. And don't miss waking under the pier. Great views and sounds under the pier. Makes a great video or photo.
  • Great beach with lots of close by shops and eateries. If you get lucky, you can see whales from the pier without having to pay for a whale watching experience. It gets very breezy, so be sure to bring a jacket. You can also get the Pacific Coast Highway and drive for great views.
  • Great beach that I'd recommend over Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, and definitely Long Beach. Pier is great but is always full of fisherman and usually smells of dead fish. But if you don't mind that, it has great views and the potential to be a romantic spot.
  • Parking is tough. Plenty of places to eat nearby. The fishing makes it smell. Definitely some better piers around the area; but if you are close with a check out.
  • This beautiful, well-maintained pier offers some great views of the largest ocean in the world. My father has taken some great pics of sea lions from this pier, so wildlife photographers, check out this spot. You just might get some great pics of other species if you're here at the right time. If you're looking for a pier with a restaurant, this one doesn't have one but other nearby piers do.
