  • don't go there with big expectations for the kids. It's just a modest ferris wheel and a silly swing ride and a modest arcade. The Zone is a nice quick stop-by if you are already in the area and passi...  more »
  • You will enjoy the Balboa Fun Zone, we sure do. It is FUN to walk it, go in the little shops, get frozen bananas on a stick, cotton candy, and much more at the stands. Games, ferris wheel, next to the...  more »
  • We mostly spent the time people watching and walking around. A clean, safe, fun place for families, small kiddos and/or older couples. Lots of things to do, and great places to shop and eat!

  • Well, I have to admit, the second time here was a better experience - namely that the air quality is great and no smells out in the hallway. Air conditioning works great too. Arcade kind of sucks though. They're also real sticklers about the height of kids and for some reason ID grownups.
  • Balboa Fun Zone is a charming destination for families, friends and romantics. It has a ferris wheel, bumper cars, arcades, photo booths, ice cream, pizza and nice restaurants, harbor tours, bicycle rentals. beach walks, fire pits on the beach, pier fishing, and a park. I hosted a small birthday party there! Take the ferry to Balboa Island for a scenic walk to the main street where you will find a variety of shops and eateries.
  • So much room for activities! From food to arcades to just strolling along this is a surefire way to have a good time. There are some pretty sweet events taking place in this area depending on the season as well.
  • Grew up in Newport, always loved visits to the Fun Zone. Iconic trend of the 50's, and just so nostalgic. My cousin champ at the grab a toy arcade game, we always came home with goodies, and full of all the great carnival food offerings.
  • love the balboa fun zone. spend a few quarters in the arcade, ride teh best ferris wheel ever and get some treats. I also like to walk out on the public dock with the kids located near the catalina flyer.
