The Bob Carpenter Sports/Convocation Center is the University of Delaware's primary location for convocations, concerts, and banquets, and also serves as the home for UD's men's and women's basketball programs. This 5,000-seat facility, opened in 1992, is part of the David M. Nelson Athletic Complex, which includes 23,000-seat Delaware Stadium, the Delaware Field House, the 2,000-seat Delaware Diamond, numerous athletic fields, the Delaware Ice Skating Science Development Center at the Rust Ice Arena, and an outdoor swimming pool.

  • Saw 2 concerts there Seating was good for both Barry Manilow and Ringo Starr At the time I had come from S. Philadelphia now I live in Bear De so am close for more concerts  more »
  • Great place to watch meet, Seats a little rough. Parking was easy and the pool did not get overly hot.  more »

  • It is good place for graduation, just need to come 2hrs. early, because the good parking and seats are quickly gone.
  • Comfortable and relatively inexpensive. Great crowd that keeps you wanting to come back!!
  • Great experience and a good place for large gathering
  • Parking and entry are a breeze, but God forbid you need food. Lines are typically really long because very few concession stands are open.
  • The Bob is an outstanding venue for events and sports. We've attended numerous basketball games here.
