We've been patronizing this market for quite sometime, and there's plenty of vendors to choose from offering a rich assortment of products. It's been wonderful to buy directly from the Farmers. We enj...  more »

We came here during the week and we're pleasantly surprised by how much fresh produce can be bought right in the centre of Manhattan, and what a great selection too. Highly recommended!  more »

I love the honey here. It is cheaper than the supermarket and it tastes better. There are a lot of vendors here with some very interesting stuff. The place is super crowded.

Great place to get home grown or made foods. Also has a nice plant selection. I go here to get honey from locally raised bees for my son's allergies.

Fresh vegetables, fruit, fish, meat, and other farm produced items, like honey. Great quality, good prices. No middlemen, so the farmer gets his fair share.

Fresh produce, fresh flowers, fresh meat and everything in-between. I love coming to the market early in the morning to grab a muffin from Bread Alone before work. Kudos to those vendors who brave the coldest days of winter to keep the market going.

The market is great for inexpensive, high-quality, local ingredients. There isn't a lot of selections for "grab-and-go" type foods. The vendors are very helpful and care a lot about their products. The market also has a large selection of flowers and other potted plants, especially in spring.

Where to stay in New York City

The first step to finding accommodations in New York City is finding the right neighborhood. Manhattan, where most visitors end up, offers some of the most expensive rooms in the world, though there are lower-budget options, such as hostels with shared restrooms. Reduce your costs by basing yourself in one of the outer boroughs, but beware of low-end motels where you may end up sharing the premises with hourly customers. Alternatively, stay along the New Jersey shore, offering all the major chain hotels at considerably lower prices than their Manhattan equivalents.
