  • I think not far behind market really is there in New York, and many famous Super. Also, your vegetables so fresh, sushi, will buy many. Non-food, and everything. So look for souvenirs and also.

  • A fair which I thought was a bit expensive. There are some interesting things for some decorative tastes. Equal worth it penalty go by the doubts.

  • Truly the biggest and best of the NYC greenmarkets, this one is pretty much the grandaddy of them all. Frequently very crowded. Excellent choices abound with beautiful produce as well as things like cheeses, flowers, meats, honey and wine. All is locally produced.
  • Extremely overpriced farmers market which is eclipsed by many other in the city (most notably Prospect Park's). I'm not sure who buys their food at this market, but the allure wore off long ago when I realized my local grocery store had similar produce for lower price. If your primary goal is getting nutritional meals at a good value, look elsewhere. If the out-of-town farmers (most of which are either socially inept hipsters who have fled NYC, or resentful townies) have convinced you to support "local produce" then by all means enjoy your $8/lb radishes. The biggest value and draw for me are local beer or cider, or baked and canned goods that would be hard to find elsewhere in the city. While many seem mediocre, a few shining stars have enjoyed my repeat business.
  • Amazing Green market. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Saturday's market is the biggest. Really fresh produce. Some stands have samples. Really good food. I love getting my lettuce, peaches there
  • Love to support local farmers and local businesses. It really doesn't get better than this. Great assortment of fresh, fruit, vegetables and artisan products.
  • Farmer's markets all over New York have this one market to thank for their combined success. Vetted, reliable local growers peddle everything fresh ranging from duck livers to baby broccolini. If you've never been, but healthy fresh eating is something you cherish, head on down to the market. Bonus Some of the best local handmade cheeses and New York wines can be purchased at this market. Request a tasting sample before buying for the most satisfaction. Also, arrive very early during the day to get the absolute best and most in demand items. Alternatively, arrive very late for the best deals of the day!
