  • A few blocks from Times Square, this former theatre is now occupied by a church which offers Sunday to 10 hours, one hour of gospel songs. Those who wish to only attend the songs will be placed at the balcony, standing and at the bottom. For those who attend all of the ceremony will be the balcony (available on smartphone simultaneous translators). In my opinion a little more fervently in the churches of Brooklyn (probably because fewer tourists) but it's still a great time.

  • the last day of the NY Marathon Sunday. looking for a quiet place in Manhattan, I found the Church in Times Square. you receive with kindness and the atmosphere is very friendly. I recommend approaching so if you search for a religious cult as if not. a wonderful choir which sang Gospel, calypso and other rhythms in praise to God.

  • We went on Sunday at 10: 00: no need to arrive early. In full Times square (convenient when you arrive on Saturday night...) We can leave quietly when we want if we sit on the balcony from audio phones are available if you wish to attend the preaching that starts with about an hour of gospel and then an hour of prayer to make at least one hour (or less if you don't have a lot of time) very catchy songs

  • See prev review: Michael is right if you are actually in the church for awhile. Started coming in 2011, a little before Pastor Dave passed. Used to be awesome. In a word: cult Worship = 7 stars. Sermons = (-) 300 stars for the way they now lead innocent sheep astray into immoral behavior with greasy grace, used to be 12 when Pastor Dave was around. Everything is beautiful until they find out you are an empath & they want to control you, use you for their ministry & profits. #1 Senior pastor tells you to ditch your apartment to room w/ a sister who has manipulated you & verbally abused you--she has also physically abused her mother--when she demanded a roommate to help her pay rent because she is higher profiled w/the church & you are supposed to "sacrifice." #2 His wife & associate pastors tell you another sister with mental illness who threatened to beat you up if you don't let her come to your apartment (sister has home of her own) is your responsibility and that you are not loving when you cannot let her come (b/c your roommate already expressed discomfort). #4 The church then told you to put up with the abuse (w/o intervening to tell the sister she is wrong) simply because "abused ppl are abusive." #5 When you try to explain to the church that you cannot help her b/c she has demonic issues stemming from her persistent patterns of lying/scamming, the church tells you their stance is that ppl who are saved cannot have demonic influences. #6 Then after you do not feel safe & speak w/ various Christian counselors, the pastors tell you and the congregation that the person is your responsibility. #7 After you decide to leave, the racist white pastor then stalk you to your new church & demand the other pastor to make you come back & take care of the black congregation who threatened you physical harm when you were only an unofficial volunteer & have never been on staff. #8 Personality Cult basically, senior pastor spends time to record personal albums when he couldn't sing, & his wife demands other minorities to take care of the black congregation (She often tells others to "Live for the benefits of others") bc she is above the task. The pastors say "they are doctors" & "it is the nurse' responsibility to take care of patients every day," nvm the "nurses" are not on staff. (Meanwhile, the pastor's wife is busy running a church school to provide jobs for her son-in-law & daughter but many graduates can't find jobs). #9 They will ruin you when you leave to make you look bad to the congregation.(e.g. in addition to telling the congregation I was irresponsible for leaving "abandoning my sheep"), they also gave ppl a message about marriage that shamed ppl who are living a pure style but who do not want to marry. When they knew I didn't want to get married so soon b/c we only met four months & b/c he needed to mature: i.e. he would call me a pharisee whenever I asked him to pray & read the Bible. The point was to use the issue to portray you as ungodly to the congregation to force you to (a) either marry & go back to the church or (b) lose the relationship & have the reputation of someone who doesn't want to do God's will (i.e. their agenda to stabilize their congregation #s by encouraging marriage) #10 AND, it offends them that you have been living a pure lifestyle, the pastor's wife & some staff didn't like it because it reminds people that with the power of the Holy Spirit, purity is possible--& that pricks their conscience about their past & ongoing immoral behavior behind the door. In sum: narcissistic personality cult, moral hypocrisy & very controlling: i.e. when they think you make them look bad by leaving, they will retaliate. In my case, they followed me to my new church & trashed me to the pastor there. ie if you don't come to our church, we won't let you have any church to go to. I am giving it 1 star bc it is the only way Google will let me post.
  • I'm from Melbourne, Australia and tune in online every week. What God is doing through Timesquare church is so powerful. It has been a life line from Him to me. Pastor Conlon and all fellow ministers, I thank God deeply for the work you are doing. I pray you abound in His work. The glory of God will reward you! You are a beacon of Light and Truth in the whole earth and your steadfastness and perseverance is becoming known to all God's people around the world! You are an important signpost of His righteousness to us all, a voice that He is speaking through, an example that is set before us which is giving much needed hope, direction, assurance of our faith, encouragement and clarity in the midst of a dark, confusing, troublesome time. Blessings abound! Eleesha.
  • Beautiful theatre right In the middle of the Theatre District. Too bad the only show playing is a talky reading of a childish fairy tale. The related discussion is overblown and ponderous in its over analysis of a mediocre fantasy story, though the musical interludes are moderately entertaining. Really wish this long-runner would just close so a new production can finally move into this magnificent theatre.
  • Church is really nice and very beautiful, but I don't think it's perfect for the average 20-something. The churchgoers here are mostly in the mid thirties to mid forties, and the way service proceeds reflects that. Not to say that the service or music is bad, it just is has that older feel to it. Try it out, but personally I liked Hillsong Church more; seemed more modern and tailored to 20 somethings.
  • People are wonderful, inside is wonderful. Beautiful place to worship God. The atmosphere is very inviting which is nice.
