Where to stay in New York City

The first step to finding accommodations in New York City is finding the right neighborhood. Manhattan, where most visitors end up, offers some of the most expensive rooms in the world, though there are lower-budget options, such as hostels with shared restrooms. Reduce your costs by basing yourself in one of the outer boroughs, but beware of low-end motels where you may end up sharing the premises with hourly customers. Alternatively, stay along the New Jersey shore, offering all the major chain hotels at considerably lower prices than their Manhattan equivalents.

  • I bought two shirts in "Lucky Brand", because, the customer services experience is all to me. Let me, tell you a secret: I will not check how much is any product, if you treat people in the right way....  more »

  • Time Warner Center offers a huge variety. Shopping, entertainment and dining! I have been to several tapings of The Anderson Cooper show as well as shopping at some of their stores. There is even a Whole Foods! AND you can live there too! Great fun all around and super easy access to the A, B, C, D & 1 trains.
  • Crammed with high end shops, this place is a fancy mall worth walking around. Per Se is on the top floor. One of the best concentrations of upscale shopping and eating I've seen in NYC. Trump Tower is just across the street too...
  • The time Warner center has different stores to shop and a few restaurants to dine and bakeries for the sweet tooth. Its architecture and design is stunning and nothing around compares to it. If you are around this area it is worth coming in and browse. It is also house to an underground Wholefoods.
  • What's not to love about a public space that feel private? There are restaurants in this place that range from a few dollars to hundreds. Its a great place to shop. There is also a Whole Foods in this place so you can shop for groceries.
  • This mall is small but great! With a limited amount of great designer shops. Everyone is nice and helpful.
