  • The location is iconic for all who watched the movie "Godfather", being the Church (interior) the baptism scene. Unfortunately, at the time was in reforms (this is the second time I visit), that hurt a little experience due to impediments caused by the work.

  • The 9:15 of 14 August 2016 we attend mass at St. Patrick's Old Cathedral, which is in the final phase of the reforms. We went in October 2015 and, on occasion, most of the panels and glass, whose originals were installed in 1867, were undergoing restoration. This time the work was almost ready and the whole area of the interior of the Church released. We observe better the details which were covered in previous visit. The mass was celebrated in English. The 10:15 is celebrated in Chinese and 11:30 in Spanish. We will return there next visit to NYC, for mass of 11:30, in Spanish.

  • We visited this church in July 2016. Very beautiful church, with a lot of wealth inside.

  • This was the church my great grandmother worshipped in in the mid nineteenth century - surrounded by a huge protective wall. Then the haters were outside the wall. Unfortunately now they're well secure inside the walls.
  • One of the most beautiful churches in NYC. I go here every time we come to the city. Beautiful
  • This church was the original St. Patrick's Cathedral before the big one went up on 5th Avenue. The churchyard is a quiet, lovely space in the midst of a bustling, artful neighborhood. It remains a community landmark. You may have seen it featured in the Godfather movies. Along the south end of the churchyard on Prince Street is the Cathedral's beautiful, old brick wall. Alongside that wall is an outstanding artisan market that has been there for many years. It features some of New York's finest handmade artisans. Beautiful jewelry, clever T-shirts, handmade hats, artwork and more. I even got my wedding ring from a jewelry maker at this market, and I know of several others who have done the same! Proceeds from vendor fees go to support the cathedral's community programs.
  • Yaaas
  • Another great cathedral to visit. It was undergoing renovations last I visited.
