  • I and my wife visited this garden, we had enjoyed gardens cultural, educational, and romantic sites. There are many natural inclines and stone steps.  more »
  • Shakespeare garden is named in honor of the famous English poet and playwright. In the garden there are flowers and plants mentioned in the poems and plays of Shakespeare, they resemble the native English village of Barda. Diverse arrays of gardens, including primrose, Artemisia, quince, Ruth, Len, accompanied by small plaques with quotes from Shakespeare's works, which refer to the flowers in the garden. Beautiful and interesting!

  • Just beautiful, I have walked most the the lower part of the park many times when I come to the city and there's always something interesting to see. The lakes are fabulous. The little zoo is so cute and the clock that has all the moving parts is also very interesting. You really just have to take some time and get away from the hustle and bustle and just go into the park and relax and walk around and really sightsee. People on the paddle boats. . Peaceful and pretty you really got to go and see it.
  • Absolutely beautiful secretn in the heart of Manhattan, I've lived in NYC my entire life, and never even knew the Gardens at 105 and 5 existed.. Awesome venue for a wedding.. Photo by Bruce Adler
  • I was just at the Bethesda Terrace and was harnessed a someone painted as the Statue of Liberty because i only gave him $3 to take a picture with him. He never said there was a charge and insisted I give him $5! Since when did the park become the new Times Square. I won't be going back.
  • It's a beautiful enchanted garden ! This cozy gated spot within golden gate park is so very romantic and can truly serve as a charming wedding venue ! The canopy of wispy trees form a natural alter when you first see the garden . I couldn't stop smiling when I saw the Shakespeare garden gate ! my favorite Shakespeare quotes started running thru my head... " I do love nothing in the world as well as you -is that not strange ?".... " For which of my bad parts didst thou first fall in love with me ?"...."Are you sure That we are awake? It seems to me That yet we sleep, we dream".... Ahhhhh love is so wonderful ! Make sure to visit this lovely scene and get lost in love !
  • I did the Heart of the Park walking tour on Aug 23/16 with Merle who was fabulous. The weather had let up a bit so it was quite comfortable. It was a full 2 hours and although I had walked Central Park numerous times, it was great to learn so much about the park. We saw loads, learned lots and because it's put on by the Conservancy, there is no charge and they don't accept tips but you can feel good about yourself and contribute the $10 to $20 (or sometimes $40) that you could have paid for a tour & give it to those whose mandate is to keep this gem available to everyone. Well done folks, well done. I would love to do another Central Park Walking Tour with the conservancy next time I'm in NYC! Thanks Merle.

Where to stay in New York City

The first step to finding accommodations in New York City is finding the right neighborhood. Manhattan, where most visitors end up, offers some of the most expensive rooms in the world, though there are lower-budget options, such as hostels with shared restrooms. Reduce your costs by basing yourself in one of the outer boroughs, but beware of low-end motels where you may end up sharing the premises with hourly customers. Alternatively, stay along the New Jersey shore, offering all the major chain hotels at considerably lower prices than their Manhattan equivalents.
