Nolita, New York City

(3.9/5 based on 45+ reviews on the web)
Nolita, sometimes written as NoLIta, and deriving from "North of Little Italy" is a neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. Nolita is bounded on the north by Houston Street, on the east by the Bowery, on the south roughly by Broome Street, and on the west by Lafayette Street. It lies east of SoHo, south of NoHo, west of the Lower East Side, and north of Little Italy and Chinatown.History and descriptionThe neighborhood was long regarded as part of Little Italy, but has lost much of its recognizable Italian character in recent decades because of the migration of Italian-Americans out of Manhattan. Many elderly descendants of Italian immigrants continue to live in the neighborhood. Moreover, the Feast of San Gennaro, dedicated to Saint Januarius ("pope of Naples"), is held in the neighborhood every year following Labor Day, on Mulberry Street between Houston and Grand Streets. The feast, as recreated on Elizabeth Street between Prince and Houston, was featured in the film The Godfather Part III.

  • Near Chinatown and also in New York, but still a Italy kanji of the stuccos and atmosphere. Friendly people that you will come calling. Various restaurants and cafes is very happy!

  • I go to Pietro Nolita for breakfast regularly. I'm a huge fan of the pastries and tea selections. My most recent visit was for cocktails and small bites. Everything was what I had expected. Great service, cool vibes, & a tall and handsome Italian man in a "pink as f*ck" t-shirt. If you haven't as yet, you really should, check this little Nolita gem.
  • This warm and unique atmosphere is a great place to enjoy an authentic Italian meal. The food has a healthy, contemporary twist so you're sure to find something new on the menu. Late night cocktails and brunch service are my favorite times for sure.
  • Went to see what the hype was about but the Food was good as well. If you get there before 7 there wasn't really any wait but the space is small so fills quickly! A nice dinner but maybe more of a one time stop.
  • Delicious, fresh pasta. I'm still thinking about the mushroom pasta I ordered. The owner Pietro is so nice & active in the restaurant, you'll likely meet him if you go!
  • The food is so delicious but also healthy. It's hard to believe there is no butter in the pasta. Cute interior too.
