I love American history--some of the artifacts on display intrigued me. Many of the Tiffany glass pieces were designed by a woman - I loved seeing her get the credit!  more »

Next to the Natural History Museum has exhibitions, interesting! Enjoy to illustrate your journey and your knowledge of the history of the United States! The cafeteria is the cheapest NYC museums.

I've only been to their shop and cafe- very peaceful and great for a break after going through the galleries. I love how neatly the goods are displayed and the employees are so helpful. Baked goods are delicious and surprisingly priced like a normal coffee shop!

Eclectic grab bag of stuff. Some rotating historical exhibits and some really fun stuff, including a gorgeous and massive collection of Tiffany lamps on the top floor.

Great for field trips, I went with my school. It's fun and some exhibits are really interesting.

Great museum. Easy to get to on the B and C train. Kids museum on the lower level. Had 3 or 4 galleries upstairs. We spent about 3 hours.

I was not that impressed, but it was not a waste of time at the same time I probably wont go back. TWO stars because for the price they charge it is not much of a value for the buck. The story of NY show/movie was pretty good. We were done in about two hours, this place is directly across from Museum of Natural History,( now that is a museum worth going!)

Where to stay in New York City

The first step to finding accommodations in New York City is finding the right neighborhood. Manhattan, where most visitors end up, offers some of the most expensive rooms in the world, though there are lower-budget options, such as hostels with shared restrooms. Reduce your costs by basing yourself in one of the outer boroughs, but beware of low-end motels where you may end up sharing the premises with hourly customers. Alternatively, stay along the New Jersey shore, offering all the major chain hotels at considerably lower prices than their Manhattan equivalents.
