  • Lovely landscaping, a good workout slope for your exercise, safe playground, plenty of dog lovers to run into, and a new demographic for the gentrified Harlem. Families crowd the park during the weeke...  more »
  • For years, Morningside Park had one of the worst and most dangerous reputations in the entire city. No one would dare enter this park in the 70's, 80's, 90's or even the early 2000's. It was so bad I ...  more »
  • Nice pond and fountain within the park. Like other Manhattan parks, this one is long and narrow, and its terrain slopes in places, owing to the hilly nature of Manhattan island. Great place for leisur...  more »

  • Honestly I prefer Morningside Park over Central Park. It's lesser known, so it's quieter and has less people. We went twice over our week stay in NYC, and we were delighted to find many turtles (pictured) the first time and a beautiful crane and a cat the second visit. There are multiple sports fields for basketball and baseball in addition to a playground and lots of open grass. This could also be great for exercising as path mileage is posted on signs every 1/8 mile, and there are tons of stairs to trample up and down.
  • It's a beautiful park all year round and has multiple play areas and places to relax, even a dog park! It can serve as a really good shortcut to places like the library or pinkberry, but during allergy season it's a bad idea to go- short story short, flowers and pollen everywhere. Also bugs, wild cats and exotic birds that escaped from the zoo.. all of this is still a great sight to see.
  • Some great spots to take pictures. Love the lake. Always some event. In winter with snow is a lot of fun. Worse than Riverside Drive and central park. Avoid during night.
  • Great park set on a hill with more stairs than you'll want to climb. Lots of benches and great views from the top of the hill.
  • GREAT PARK... WALKING... NICE NEW PLAYGROUNDS... CLEAN GRASS UPPER SIDE... PERFECT TO WALK YOUR DOG...
