Amazing night out to watch the Knicks vs Brooklyn. Great old arena, amazing history and very well organised. Only downside is the prices $11.50 for a beer
One of the best venues to see a concert. Place is magical. The renovations did put a damper on the ability to walk around the arena, however, and the ugly sky bridges can mask your view and mess with the sound if you're too high up. It's a fantastic sounding room and the history alone makes every show feel special.

This is the iconic New York stadium. Centrally located in midtown, easily accessible by public transport (Penn Station), hosts the biggest and best in the world. Numerous stadiums and arenas in a giant mega-complex, hosts sports (New York Knicks), concerts, conventions, and everything else imaginable. There has been some effort in recent years to clean it up a bit, and maintain it a bit better, but overall it does sometimes feel like a compromise - location for quality. The prices, however, reflect the location, and are pretty high, basically regardless of what you get - and towards that end, the quality, for the most part (but with some exception) is generally a bit lower than you would expect for an iconic stadium complex in the heart of the city. That being said, going to MSG is a must, there is always a giant headliner, and the entire city is at your fingertips.
The renovation the arena is really nice. The concession has more options but is still expensive. The show I came to see was amazing. No technical issues and things moved seamlessly.
James Khoeler is completely right. Security here is the worst. If you get accused of something they don't give a crap. They do not cooperate with you what so ever. My friends and I were ejected from a Drake and Future concert for unfair reasons. Our whole section was smoking and drinking and being dumb so we were given a warning. We respected the warning but people around us werent and about an hour after the warning, next thing we know we are getting dragged out by security. They take our id's and tear up our tickets while we are telling them to search us and check the cameras. We were completely sober and the security is very disrespectful. Dont think i will ever attend a concert here again. Very overpriced anyway. F*** MSG
Saw a concert there recently. it is an iconic place for sure, the acoustics were fair. What caused this review was the fact that they took a small bottle of water away at security then had the nerve to charge $5.75 for a bottle of Dasani inside. Seems the Dolans aren't happy ripping us off for their crappy cable service now they need to charge more for a bottle than a case of 24 costs. Shame on you
