  • We went to Central Park after the Museum of Natural History and saw people in boats. Did some research and came back the next morning to fo it ourselves. Best $15 spent there. It had some algae near t...  read more »
  • To get there, just down on 5 Av/59 St. Station of the subway and walk through the Center Drive where the statue of General Jose de San Martin and walk across the South face to Bethesda Fountain and The Lake, the boathouse is at the bottom of the right arm. There is also possibility to use the entrance to 72nd Street and walk across the Terrace Drive until you reach the source.

  • I'm really disappointed with this restaurant. I am visiting New York to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday we went to The Boathouse for dinner and although we told them in advance about the occasio...  read more »
  • My father and I have eaten here twice now over our last few trips to NYC. It has never disappointed. The restaurant itself is in a beautiful spot in Central Park. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive during both visits. The food was top-notch. It is pricey but worth it for taste and overall experience. It's one of the few places left these days where you feel like you should get dressed up to enjoy a nice meal. I love this place and will continue to stop here every time I visit the city.
  • This was a horrible experience. I had this restuarant booked for two months prior as it was going to be the spot we went to after I proposed to my girlfriend. I even had a gondola ride booked for later that night after dinner as it seemed really romantic that they'd do something like that. They start off my giving us complementary champagne to celebrate the occasion. Nice. But it took our waiter 25 minutes to get an order in for an appetizer. I didn't mind at first because we were still in the moment of the engagement. After the appetizers came (20 minutes later) he didn't bother getting our order for entrees. Instead he avoided eye contact and served everyone else that was around the area. I literally had to yell for him to come back to the table to take our orders. Then I kid you not it took 1 hour from the time we placed our entrée orders for the food to arrive. At that point I was extremely fed up. My fiance didn't have the proper silverware to eat and he took 15 minutes just to bring her a fork. We decided to just skip the gondola ride as this was just ridiculous. The sea bass was as bland as their service. Free champagne doesn't cover up crap srevive. I was extremely disappointed and will not EVER be dining here again the next time I'm visiting New York. The $100+ bill, bland food, and horrible service definitely isn't worth it.
  • One of my favorite spots to sit with a glass of wine. My boyfriend and I have gone twice to just enjoy the patio. It can be chaotic and a long wait for a seat since it's first come, first serve, but it's worth it.
  • Waiting for an hour to get a nice table. But we spent really really great time with a nice view and great food. My favorite place in NY
  • Very nice restaurant with a beautiful view of central park getting to see people kayaking along the river. The food is yummy and delicious. Staffs are friendly, helpful and attentive. Atmosphere is lovely, classy and romantic. I highly suggest you make a reservation because it could be a long wait for a table. Overall great experience to eat here.
