The George Washington Bridge is a suspension bridge over the Hudson River. It connects Manhattan with New Jersey. The bridge has fourteen lanes of traffic, and is considered the most befahrenste bridge in the world. The traffic as he flows, flows across eight lanes on the top and six lanes of traffic on the lower level, where trucks and other heavy vehicles must use only the upper level. The speed was laid down to 45 mph. This corresponds to approximately 72 km / h. "In 2012 49.110.921 vehicles crossed the bridge in the direction of New York City, so that the bridge is used a total of around 100 million vehicles per year." You was named after George Washington, the first President of the United States. Take the "A" train to 207TH ST - Inwood and STATION alight at the 175TH ST. Walk 10 minutes to the Northwest.

A beautiful monument of engineering, construction and public service. The world's busiest bridge. Built with one level, but forward looking, adaptable to the later addition of the lower level. See it on holidays when the towers are completely lit up from the inside. Centennial in 2031.

A beautiful bridge that gives you an expansive view of the Hudson. I haven't driven it but, the walkway is something I recommend anyone to visit. Nevertheless, I do wish that the other walkway was opened though. That's basically seeing another view which is upper Manhattan, the Bronx, and upper New Jersey.

Great to walk across, not so much when driving across. Always take the lower level if ou can. The top level is always backed up due to the fact that the buses and trucks need to use it and God forbid there's a crash; you might as well have a BBQ outside.

Where to stay in New York City

The first step to finding accommodations in New York City is finding the right neighborhood. Manhattan, where most visitors end up, offers some of the most expensive rooms in the world, though there are lower-budget options, such as hostels with shared restrooms. Reduce your costs by basing yourself in one of the outer boroughs, but beware of low-end motels where you may end up sharing the premises with hourly customers. Alternatively, stay along the New Jersey shore, offering all the major chain hotels at considerably lower prices than their Manhattan equivalents.
