  • A large building in which are the graves of Grant and his wife. The times that I've gone there were few tourists. Although built with interest, the reality is that a monument is a little cold.

  • The General Grant National Memorial is in the vernacular also grant's Tomb, is a monstrous mausoleum where the remains of Ulysses S. Grant (1822-1885), an American civil war General and the 18th President of the United States, and his wife Julia Grant (1826-1902) is located. The Tomb complex is at the upper end of the Morningside hides Park. The plant is located in a really prominent location in Riverside Park overlooking the Hudson River. Makes about 18 o'clock, during the day you can go into it. Occurs none. Subway: Take the "1" in the direction of 242ND ST-VAN CORTLANDT PK and get off please STATION ST at the 125TH. Run 8 minutes in a south westerly direction.

  • "Grant's Tomb" as this monument is known to locals, is a remarkable national site. Today Grant is considered something of a failure as president and a very important, but not particularly genius general, but in his day he was considered to be the greatest hero of the Civil War, and a president who the majority of Americans were proud of. This monument reflects what Americans of his age thought of him. It's a grand, prestigious and patriotic mosoleum. Both the general and his wife are "buried" here, or rather, their marble caskets are on display here. I really like this beautiful monument, which is quite close to Columbia University
  • Beautiful building and cool piece of history. The inside with all the reliefs of the Union generals is really neat to see as well.
  • Impressive place. It's free and open throughout the day. Beautiful dome view from the inside.
  • A quiet reflection for a cigarette break (can't smoke in International House: Kim Chi and cigarettes would be non-kosher). CAN A MD OR JD WITHOUT BASIC MILITARY TRAINING BE A GENERAL? WHATEVER HAPPENS TO TRASH TALKERS ABOUT PARATROOPERS W/O (AA) ON SHOULDER ON C130 SAFETY BELT LIKE CARRIBENA ONCE THE REAR RAMP OPENS? DONT ONE FLY UP 30 STOREYS UPON PULLING JETPACK TO CLEAR RPG INCONING F157 OR NEED SNORKLE TO STAY BRAIN UNDEAD? 3 US NPS RANGERS NOT SECRET SERVICE CAUSE NOT PRESIDENT?
  • As a history lover impressed by the building architecture style how ever due to weekend and some temporary restrictions park was closed

Where to stay in New York City

The first step to finding accommodations in New York City is finding the right neighborhood. Manhattan, where most visitors end up, offers some of the most expensive rooms in the world, though there are lower-budget options, such as hostels with shared restrooms. Reduce your costs by basing yourself in one of the outer boroughs, but beware of low-end motels where you may end up sharing the premises with hourly customers. Alternatively, stay along the New Jersey shore, offering all the major chain hotels at considerably lower prices than their Manhattan equivalents.
