  • I've been thinking about visiting here for years, and it's so easy to reach on the subway. The story of Grant's life is amazing. He was a failed businessman at the start of the Civil War and ended up ...  more »
  • I took an after hours tour of the memorial, which I highly recommend doing if you want to learn as much as possible. I honestly learned more in two hours on the tour, than I did in all my years of sch...  more »
  • This memorial to a great war hero and president is a must-see for history buffs especially Civil War fans. This tomb of the President and First Lady is beautiful and the crypt is stunning and solemn. ...  more »

  • This is a very simple tribute to a man who is greater than I anticipated. After visiting the Memorial, you should go to the visitor's center to be surprised at how little you probably know about this general and US President. There is a short film about his military service and his Presidency. The whole settings looks out over the Hudson and is surrounded by greenery. No horns or constant, noisy cars. A truly serene spot in a busy city. I can only say to the US National Park Service, "WELL DONE." Thank you.
  • A beautiful place to relax and enjoy the autumn. Am excellent option to escape from the craziness of Manhattan.
  • Impressive and peaceful monument. Weird opening hours and slightly creepy security - feels like an awkward enclave of the federal government in Republic of Manhattan.
  • A beautiful civil war Era moment in riverside park. Was once one of the top tourist destinations in the US.
  • Quiet, minimalist and beautiful. Worth the visit!
