  • New York City with its high skyscrapers and its old buildings, the Hudson River and the statue of liberty. All want to arrive to the city so admired, that never sleeps: "Big Apple." Many live in the big city but those who actually know their history? Most saved corners, its neighborhoods, its famous streets full of stories... Dutch, English, changes of names, the city until today. See the new buildings in the area of the former World Trade Center, the monetary reserve and others close. We started our journey at the front of the History Museum of the American Indian at the entrance of Battery Park. At this place I expected our guide Raul, under cold intense it seemed that we don't aguantaríamos cruise... Wit, Picardy and the enthusiasm that our guide gives his talk made us withstand the cold and get to the end of the route. Three hours of walking to feet by lower Manhattan that made us learn about the history of this sector of the city; No bored at any time. Of course, we had our time for lunch and meet our physical needs! If you arrive in the city of New York do not stop to attend to this great journey free tourist. (It will only provide a tip according to your budget and your generosity) After finished the "tour" will feel a great satisfaction of having it made, directed by maestro Raúl. I have attended various free tours in various countries of Europe and I think Raul is the best guide with whom I have shared. Thank you!

  • I have visited several times NY but he had never taken a tour walking and found me a very good experience because our guide Raul gave us interesting information regarding where we met. Our tour did we undertake a day that was very cold (-3 c) and the guide take care at all times to protect us from the cold as more possible. Iterates through this tour that started on Wall Street: financial area, Word trade center, area where the Mayor of the town, China Town, Little Italy and Soho.

  • Highly recommended tour to see first hand some of the city's history, that day it snowed heavily and our guide Raul broke the rhythms and the path of the tour to make it more comfortable, a 10 for it. I recommend doing so as soon as possible on your arrival to the city, it is a wonderful touchdown and Raul handed out a few maps and a sheet with visits in the city, if you've seen any of the areas that are visited, perhaps a little Miss Grace. Once finish the tour don't miss the opportunity to haggle in Chinatown (Canal Street) for a bag or a clock, unamusing!

  • Did the Brooklyn tour on December 14 and highly recommend it. Josh was our guide and he was extremely knowledgable and pointed out loads of interesting things on our tour. Only disappointment was seeing 2 members of our group sneak away just before the end of the tour to avoid paying anything. Shame on you guys!
  • Free tours by foot is highly recommended, as you pay as much as you wish at the end of the tour and it is also a great way to see the town you are staying in. I did two free tours by foot with John whilst in New York City. He did an amazing job and provides you with a lot of information.
  • We did two walking tours this week with Free Tours by Foot in New York: the Harlem tour with Ryan and the Brooklyn Bridge tour with Joshua. Both were very experienced and excellent tour guides. We enjoyed their stories, information and tips. I really recommend those tours especially with Ryan and Joshua!!! We had a great and interesting time.
  • Fantastic tour. Katherine our guide was so informative and made the tour really interesting. Learnt so much about the area which we would never had done through guide books.
  • The tour was fantastic, really interesting and our guide was very entertaining, knew a lot of history and gave us key facts. All was very well explained and said. Not at any time did I think this was boring. And I think all of us thought the same Also directions to how to get there and how to meet the guide was very good Keep up the good work

Where to stay in New York City

The first step to finding accommodations in New York City is finding the right neighborhood. Manhattan, where most visitors end up, offers some of the most expensive rooms in the world, though there are lower-budget options, such as hostels with shared restrooms. Reduce your costs by basing yourself in one of the outer boroughs, but beware of low-end motels where you may end up sharing the premises with hourly customers. Alternatively, stay along the New Jersey shore, offering all the major chain hotels at considerably lower prices than their Manhattan equivalents.
