4.6/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web
At Economy Candy, browse through countless aisles stacked with candies both vintage and modern. Opened in the wake of the Great Depression in 1937, this is the oldest candy store in New York City. A triangular yellow sign that says “Proceed with Candy” welcomes you in the front of the store. Check out a large table in the center filled with virtually every sweet from your childhood, including gummy animals, jelly beans, pixie sticks, wax lips, and mega lollipops. An extensive selection of dried fruit, nuts, and halvah is also on display. For a taste of old New York, try a dried apricot coated in chocolate. Comic book lovers will enjoy leafing through a stack of old comic books. The store also sells baseball cards, vintage gumball machines, box tins, board games, and lunchboxes. • A small shop with that you enter at the door smells of chocolate. Inside you'll find, chocolates, chocolates, candies, delights, lollipops and anything else you can imagine. Most customers are tourists. Prices are kinda expensive one and the same products you find in Super brands at best prices. Since I arrived in the region spent and I bought some stuff but the akriboplirwsa.

  • The best candy store in the city. They have something for everyone, including since rare and vintage candy. The best part is that everything here is well-priced, unlike other candy stores in Manhattan ;-)
  • Great sweet selection, and I bet it's the cheapest in Manhattan, of not of all the boroughs! Really fun place, but it can get very busy, so maybe better if you don't have a big backback as I did :p
  • What can you say? This is the biggest candy store I can imagine and the selection of international and local favorites, as well as halwa, cannot be beaten. I don't even like candy all that much!
  • A plethora of goodies to choose from! It's hard to resist getting bagfuls of sugar! Very reasonably priced.
  • Every candy that you remember from your 70s and 80s childhood - well, at least mind. They also have lots of fancier candies that you purchase by 1/4 or 1/2 pound. I go with my kids whenever I'm in the neighborhood and we never walk without happily spending about $50 - but totally worth it. I'd encourage anyone walking around this area to go and enjoy!
