Century 21, New York City

3.6
Visit the flagship store of Century 21, a popular Northeast's department store chain. The retailer offers designer merchandise at significantly reduced prices. Shop for men's, women's, and children's clothes, bags, shoes, home furnishings, and cosmetics at up to 65 percent off retail prices. This particular branch of the family-owned business has a special sentimental value to New Yorkers. After 40 years of operation, the store was badly damaged as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attack. It reopened five months later to much jubilation from its band of loyal shoppers. Be warned: It can get very crowded and busy. • If you want to shop in NY without emptying your wallet. This is the place. the articles are many, but if a patient can do good business. I had a grant m. kors to $120, a down comforter for the child always MK at 44 dollars. If I go back to New York is definitely the first place I would look if I were to go shopping ...

  • Compared to 10 years ago, the goods are a bit poor but if you have time and desire to try are good deals. The American brands are really well priced. Much better than Italian outlets outlets have very little. It is not comparable to other outlets present in Usa but it's New York.

  • First time here and I like all the designer brands. Found some really good bargains. Prices range from low to extremely high and this makes this store for every shopper. They should open a store in Chicago. It will be hit among local shoppers. The only con is that I and others had to wait for up to 20 mins for a fitting room.
  • The redesign has greatly improved the store. This place is always congested. Tourists, mostly, pack the floors and make navigating the aisles into a ninja exercise. But the renovations brought more light, more breathing room, better organization of departments, and an overall better shopping experience. There is still a certain level of chaos you'll have to tolerate but it's no longer insufferable. You still have a broad selection at decent prices. This store does need a full honesty exposé to determine where and under what conditions their heavily discounted goods are made. Many of the boutique name items are bottom rung throwaways that would never see shelf time in uptown stores. They often sell just the name without the quality. But the selection is excellent and prices won't choke you blue.
  • This layout of this Century 21 Dpt. Store is so confusing! That's why I'm giving it 4 stars. Everything else is great. I'd like to see more shoes, but there are a lot of athletic shoes which I guess compensates for it. But it took my 30 minutes to find my way from the shoes section to the handbags and wallets section. That was annoying. And I did try to follow the signs but they're not super clear and/or accurate.
  • Great buys. Needs more staff to assist shoppers. Lines can get bit long. Still a awesome location. GOD BLESS THIS NATION.. WE NEED ALL OF THE PRAYERS.
  • Love shopping at C21, you can find amazing deals on clothes but sometimes you have to search. I love the lingerie section but I rarely find my size sometimes. I usually go early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Where to stay in New York City

The first step to finding accommodations in New York City is finding the right neighborhood. Manhattan, where most visitors end up, offers some of the most expensive rooms in the world, though there are lower-budget options, such as hostels with shared restrooms. Reduce your costs by basing yourself in one of the outer boroughs, but beware of low-end motels where you may end up sharing the premises with hourly customers. Alternatively, stay along the New Jersey shore, offering all the major chain hotels at considerably lower prices than their Manhattan equivalents.
