Century 21, New York City

Categories: Department Stores, Shopping
Inspirock Rating:
3.5/5 based on 2,600+ reviews on the web
Visit the flagship store of Century 21, a popular Northeast's department store chain. The retailer offers designer merchandise at significantly reduced prices. Shop for men's, women's, and children's clothes, bags, shoes, home furnishings, and cosmetics at up to 65 percent off retail prices. This particular branch of the family-owned business has a special sentimental value to New Yorkers. After 40 years of operation, the store was badly damaged as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attack. It reopened five months later to much jubilation from its band of loyal shoppers. Be warned: It can get very crowded and busy. • Century 21 is heaven if you like great quality items at great prices. There is a huge choice of labels, from high end to high street, and the prices are excellent. There is a coffee shop to take a bre...  read more »
  • It is a good choice in NY for a rainy day, I was at least use that we gave him. There are very good deals on some products, that make it worth to go. You'll find clothing brands at good prices and some very good deals. It's not very big, so you can explore it in a couple of hours. It is located in the southern part of Manhattan.

  • Century 21 is a multilevel department store, labels at bargain prices. I found a Ralph Lauren jacket for $ 29.95 normally $175.+ or something, it was last year' s. Upon paying the tag scanned $99.00 e...  read more »
  • A bunch of snobbish European tourists dangerously wheeling around huge baskets of clothes with equally snobbish cashiers. If you want to feel like a prisoner while shopping, just visit the dirty, small changing rooms. You wait on a line that usually takes 30 minutes, then a rep goes through all of your items and gives you a #, and they even inspect everything before you can re-enter the shopping area. One rep had the nerve to tug on my blouse, implying I might be stealing, even though I work across the street and the blouse was fairly worn. When you check out, they carelessly shove everything in a bag and then staple it closed like 10 times, along with the receipt which is also stapled to the bag, likely so people won't steal of course. Because customers who already paid are the ones who will steal. Shop at your own risk here.
  • Dont ever shop in Full price ! Century 21 has amazing discounts , all big designers on %70 and %80 off !!!! the shoe dpt is sooo full of designers shoes in prices that are shocking ! and dont miss the sunglasses section ,you can get the best Rayban for $60 only !
  • I wish there was a Century 21 where I live. I got awesome deals on a sport coat and a jacket. Plus I bought about ten ties for a fraction of their retail price. Unlike many discount places, the items they sell are name brand and high quality. This place is crowded and it takes a lot of time to check out, but it's worth it.
  • No girls weekend in the city is complete without a visit to Century 21! Rest up, wear comfortable clothes, and prepare to spend some time there. I have found so many fantastic deals here. Make sure you visit the designer handbag section and the designer shoe section in the lower level.
  • Good selection, Great prices and often clearance and sale items. Downtown location has a discounted luxury clothing section as well. Often very crowded.
