Central Park, New York City
(4.8/5 based on 85,000+ reviews on the web)
In the midst of all of the city's concrete and high-rises, Central Park brings greenery and shady places for relaxation--as well as a zoo, carousel, skating rink, theater, and several fountains--to the northern part of the city. Stroll, bike, picnic, or people-watch among 341 hectares (843 acres) of lakes, jogging paths, woodlands, walkways, lawns, and trees. One of the country's major historical landmarks, the park hosts frequent concert, plays, and art shows. Stop by the Alice in Wonderland statue, a favorite place for photos. • Central Park is probably my favorite place in all of New York. Make sure you get a map before exploring though, it's an endless maze! Inside, you will find a castle (yes, a real castle), many differen...  more »
  • What is surprising is the magnitude of this park that can actually be compared to a real forest. Immense size compared to the concept of European public park. Full of activities, various types of plants and animals. For a moment it doesn't seem to be in NY

  • We went to Central Park a few times because we wanted to get round as much of it as we could. We stopped off at a few of the recommended must see sites in the park. We had such a fantastic time walkin...  more »

  • It's a beautiful place where one can do anything they want and despite being in the middle of the busiest Manhattan, it feels separated from all that city noise and fast life. In fact it is the most peaceful place I came across in my trip to America. It's a great place for just walking around, running, cycling, reading, enjoying music, photography, spending some peaceful alone time, entertainment and perfect for dog lovers. I was only there a few hours on a weekday but had an amazing experience, and from what I hear it's much better on the weekends. I'll certainly visit the amazing Central Park on my next trip to the US, hopefully some time soon in the future :)
  • One of the very best things about living on the upper west side of NYC is having access to Central Park. In such a big city, having grass, trees, and flowers is a necessity. They have such good playgrounds and common areas for people to use. The city takes pretty good care of it.
  • I had high expectations given how famous the park is and it didn't disappoint! The park is huge with many different paths and beautiful scenery. It's awesome being able to escape the big city if only for a moment. Definitely give yourself a few hours to explore the different areas. Definitely go to the Boat House and Lennon memorial.
  • Amazing park with so much to do. I mean, really, the possibilities here are endless. I'd start by saying that theres so much to do, but also so many places throughout the park that you can sit on top of a rock and relax. I really love it here, and coming from Miami and seeing this park in different seasons just makes it super cool and enjoyable. The leaves are just beautiful and the park has so much to offer making it a top spot to visit in NYC.
  • I love coming here. The park is so huge that I discover a new part everyday. If you are into photography it is a must place to come! It is romantic, adventurous, relaxing place to be. As a new yorker I recommend to walk or bike do not take the horse carriage. There are many activities to do here. Row boats at the pond, nature sanctuary, zoo, biking trails, an amusement park and etc.
