  • Possibly the only bar in NY where you aren't competing with the table next to you to hear your friends. The Bartenders will shush if it gets too loud and everyone magically tones it down a notch which...  read more »
  • Just kidding, shush away! This is a romantic, Renaissance bar that's relaxing and quite enjoyable. I tried the Black Raspberry Honey wine which was delicious! They had unique offerings and an unusual,...  read more »
  • This is a small bar with a lot of character. They have a great cocktail and beer list - I had some kind of Belgian IPA which I really like. It has a laid back vibe, when it gets too loud the bar tende...  read more »
  • Bartender shush especially everyone when conversation gets to a normal bar noise level. Makes the atmosphere really awkward. Like the librarian shushing you and your friends in highschool. Awkward environment. The bartender also refuses to explain to patrons the beers on tap, and just points patrons to a small chalkboard with a written list that provides no descriptions at all. Beer drinkers beware.
  • Great beer, so much potential. Worst staff in NYC. Bartender had a friend over and just chatted with her, even when people were trying to get drinks. Rude to everyone. None of the beer is familiar to most people, but don't expect help.
  • Went on a Friday night in July - totally lost it´s concept. Disengaged bartender, loud frat crowd, no shushing whatsoever... except from me.. Totally charmless, so we left without doing business...
  • Who wouldn't go to a place called "Burp Castle", especially if it were featured on Three Sheets. I'll go where Zane Lamprey goes. He's the man. The beers on tap are Belgian, which never has a bad choice. The walls are covered with paneling and murals of monks drinking beer and demoralizing females. The small square tables are cute, and the dark castle-like atmosphere makes me feel badass. I was told that there are usually guys in robes that walk around to shush crowds that are speaking too loudly. I haven't seen this yet, but if this is true, it's a game changer. A place to just relax, enjoy beer, converse about ye old gossip in a soft tone, and burp loudly. It sounds like my place to be. Don't you miss the 1700s? I think they should have deep monk murmurs in the background to mess with people.
  • This a unique bar in that they try to keep the noise level down. If the room gets too loud the bartender will "sush" the room. They have a great beer selection and makes for a great place for spending time with co-workers and friends or a date.
